The YouGov poll placed the party on 27 per cent within a week of its launch, putting it well ahead of Labour on 22 per cent and the Conservatives on 15 per cent, just weeks before the 23 May elections. The Green Party is on 10 per cent, the Liberal Democrats on 9 per cent and Change UK - The Independent Group on 6 per cent, once non-voters and people who are unsure how they will vote are excluded. But its popularity has tanked under current leader Gerard Batten, with the YouGov poll suggesting it is on course to receive only 7 per cent of votes next month. Mr Farage left Ukip last year, saying he did not "recognise" it under Mr Batten's leadership.

well... none of them were ever assured of re-election anyway so i fail to see why i should give a stuff about the poor dears thats politics when your term is up. just cos they may not have a chance of reelection or even be voted out for a raving xenophobe doesn't mean they should be getting a pity party.
I'd take it a step further, they've also convinced the people earning £7.83 p/h that those earning £4 p/h are the problem, mainly cause they don't speak English. Since the 1950s we've added a fourth class to our system. People who look/sound different and are willing to work for almost nothing cause its better than not working back home.
A senior member of the 1922 Committee of Tory backbenchers has called for Theresa May to step down immediately – suggesting the influential group could set a timetable for her departure. Nigel Evans, the committee’s joint executive secretary, said the process for selecting a new leader “can’t start soon enough”. “To be honest I would be delighted if she announced today she was announcing her resignation and we could then have an orderly election to choose a new leader of the Conservative party,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Brexit in-depth: All the latest news, analysis and expert opinion “I believe the only way we’re going to break this impasse properly is if we have fresh leadership of the Conservative party … If there was an announcement today by the prime minister then of course we could start the process straight away.” The executive of the 1922 Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday afternoon. However, another committee source said no decisions had been made, and that most of the reports about attempts to remove May “have only reflected the views of one or two
Nothing will happen on Britain's terms whilst she rules the party. It's no deal Brexit or another extension if she doesn't get replaced. I don't hate May like many on here, but she just isn't a leader... She neither inspires, nor convinces others: she doesn't lead. A general election might be even better. Let a new group of people try and sort out the mess.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz they've said that twice before during this crisis and each time #bottledit as soon as someone points out it would be good for the country but bad for their party
They either take the hit now, or the party takes a hit in the future. This has damaged the Tories for a long time, they can start repairing the damage now by calling an election. The only thing that will help the Tories now is Labour screwing something up and people shifting their anger at them instead. Call an election now and they'll have a shallower hole to dig out of.
Nothing will happen anyway. The EU have given every avenue for Britain to not self harm but as long as we have access to the knives of division we will do it anyway.
So far there are 3 options being discussed and two of the top bods have differing views (not including Grady who it seems will make the ultimate decision). 1) Change the rules so tories can vote against her leadership. 2) Insist that she gives a fixed date for her departure. 3) Do nothing.
