They are not a party & i'm not sure they intend to be one rather they are just a grouping in Parliament until the next election where almost certainly they will be swept away by the major parties.

There is no intention for them to be a party. They are a group of MPs who have a common goal as far as Brexit is concerned. Their objective is to prevent a no deal Brexit. If May refuses to rule no deal out, more of her MPs will join the new group. With the support of the new group, labour could have enough MPs to pass New amendments in the commons either delaying Brexit or going for a second referendum in the event of the May deal failing.

We have in the current government the weakest most disunited bunch in history. For May to accept a party within her party (the ERG with its own leader, manifesto, whips) shows who currently is running the government. Anything that May does, seem to be in reference to the ERG.

With 20 tories or so voting against the government or joining the group, there will be enough MPs to make sure that no deal catastrophe doesn’t happen.

The most dangerous thing in politics is a politician who doesnt worry about getting reelected.

    These 11 are that now.

They cannot worry cos they will have zero chance no matter what.

However... they are in a bind as corbyn won't do a thing cos he's a hard line Brexiteer.

The best that can be hoped for as of today imo is an extension of article 50, a binding no to no deal vote.... and a general election.

I don't know if mays deal is seen as poison as politically they all fell into the politics of labelling the withdrawal deal negotiated between UK and eu as mays deal...

The backstop is the eus worst case post brexit line short of no deal. I don't think people get this.

That has been the problem all along with our negotiations and our useless politicians. Because they were hopeless and obviously disunited the EU presented the deal obtained by May as a huge favour to Britain. It was nothing of the kind. The EU had as much to lose as us from a no deal. Yet we’ve come to the edge of something that no one wants. Why didn’t they come together to negotiate FFS knowing full well MPs have to approve it? There would have no need for these stupid blackmail plots which were bound to fail anyway.

A classic example of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Watching the commons recently has been like looking at the relationships and actions at my local nursery. I am dead serious!

Why do you think the EU with 500mil people has as much to lose as the UK with 60mil

    https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-7851/CBP-7851.pdf

EU exports are 44% of the UKs total exports The EU sends more in but there are 27 countries sending stuff. only 2 countries are really up **** creek and thats ireland and holland.

    UK = 274billion
The EU sell 342 billion here.

the biggest issues are cars and such and then Medicines

Again, just look at what is happening..... the EU are looking at May and saying no. . sorry but no to renegotiating. If they'd as much to lose why would they do so.

Its clear theres a deal there to be made somehow if some face can be saved and the sabre rattlers can be shut down. But the EU are nope, sorry you lot agreed to this and thats just it.

Its clear the EU will hurt but it is 27 countries who are all interlinked and its one big market is affected for them... for us its nearly half our trade AND AND mind you most of the world markets we trade with need a new agreement as the ones we have are EU deals and fall away instantly.

It is the equivalent of saying yeah work pays me but i tell you what I'm going to just not go to work for 6 months or a year and still expecting them to pay up. you will go broke, you will not be able to pay your bills.

Jeremy hunt continues the UK government's stellar performance by insulting Slovenia on a trip there are part.of our diplomatic efforts.

he referred to them as a Soviet vassal state while.trying to complement their supposed development into a modern democratic state.

the stupidity of it all is they were part of Yugoslavia which the UK had a hand in creating in post war era... AND they've had the eu to thank for opportunities to grow

so the guys rejecting the eu go to a country that participation in the eu has helped and then insults them to their faces.

    oops.

Some hope. This is what they are like. They think they are superior. It comes from the top or tbe speech writer wouldn't be writing it.

    basically YUP.

the rest of parliament needs to wake up cos all its done is played a dangerous game voting down an agreed deal in a so called meaningful vote as it was politicially fun to do so. They have since enabled may to fritter away all the time left by wasting our taxpayers money travelling europe with her cabinet to insult other states.

there was to be SOMETHING this week. shes already given them the finger saving nah don't feel like it how about the 12th march maybe next.

Its quite clear that the UK withdrawal deal was done be EU and it aint changing. Parliament needs to decide if its going to play more games now. Its vote yes and admit the last 3 months have been an utter waste of time. (December this should ave been done) OR leave with no deal. Thats what may wants.

Talk of extensions etc are precisely what she and the tories scum don't want.

But theres no better deal coming so sing the one in front of you and be done.

LABOUR must swallow their stupidity and not vote this deal down again. you might have 100 tories willing to vote for it this time. But in the end the choice is stark and was always going to be so.

May saying she;s making progress when in fact everyone knows theres none. She's going to have to stand up in parliament and give some update this week. It'll be erm... I have a nice bit of filet mignon one night lads, truffles the next, they cdon't serve carling in the EU... more class.

Delaying Brexit is the ‘rational solution’ if Theresa May fails to persuade MPs to vote for her deal, Donald Tusk said today.

The European Council president was speaking after bilateral talks with the Prime Minister in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Mr Tusk said: “Prime Minister May and I discussed yesterday a lot of issues including the legal and procedural context of a potential extension.

“For me it is absolutely clear that (if) there is no majority in the House of Commons to approve a deal, we will face an alternative – chaotic Brexit or extension.

“The less time there is until March 29, the greater the likelihood of an extension.”

Oh well.. there goes any chance of an extension.

If an EU autocrat says something is rational there's no way the UK will do it.

I saw one article today saying that Remain is now close to double digits ahead of Leave and if referendum held today there is almost no chance Britain would vote again to leave EU.

The rational choice is to call the whole thing off...

    highly doubtful.

What those polls do is ignore how active the rags are.

There is a serious amount os scummy "angry" reporting out there on everything and anything to drive an agenda to prevent anything bar a hard brexit.

the scum paper and the daily fail are bascially going hell for leather after every angle to stoke up anti eu hatred.

If another referendum were held and the option remain was on the ballot people would vote for hitler to be reincarnated and to take over rather than remain IMO.

    Thats how stupid this is.
