Spot on. The constant pandering to bigotry and xenophobia of certain sections of our people by the right wing (to counter the UKIP apparently) is really shameful. When the SNP's rep on the panel last night said that Scotland needed immigration (which is fact as their population is getting older and not increasing and needed to staff their services and their industries) and immigration had been good, Oakshott said that although that could have been the case for Scotland, however immigration had been disastrous for the rest of the UK. Again to big applause but what was shameful IMO was that no one in the panel challenged her. Was her assertion fact? How did the immigrants caused that "disaster"? Nice of her to make people who have been here for decades feel welcome.

Jeremy Corbyn could face up to a dozen resignations from the Labour frontbench if the party backs a second referendum as a way out of the Brexit crisis.
A string of junior shadow ministers have told the Guardian they are strongly opposed to the idea of a second referendum, which they fear would expose Labour to a vicious backlash in leave-voting constituencies.

so he got away with a non factual statement with zero data backing it and got applauded.

the real facts are more immigrents coming to uk work as a proportion than the Uk natives. (7 out of 10 v 6 out of 10)

the real facts are the NHS would collapse tomorrow if all immigrants left.

this is what I mean about corbyn.

he has sat back and done nothing so may us now supposedly.focused on winning over rebel Tories and dup... which is impossible as cross party talks fail.

So At 3:30pm May will go and basically say she's thinking about it and ask for a motion to come back on the 29th to actually vote on something or other.

whatever it is this statement will contain will be critical to timing. the clock is rapidly ticking down and she wants the parliament to support her wasting another week of it after she's wasted time since thursday.

i would presume then our other parliamentarians will tag on amendments to be voted on including no "no deal"

First off.... If the dup row in behind her then it will be down to tory rebels to vote down her motion in which case i don't know what happens OR amendments get approved.

    Like...

If an amendment says: "no to no deal" and that gets passed but then they trun round and reject the motion for the 29th after... what happens <laugh>

theres so many options that could be tagged on its not worth worrying about now.

basically this is now over to the house.

They will tag on whatever to her meaningless motion and that will be the rub.

    what gets voted down.

I am now of the opinion that unless several remain tories break from the fold that the DUP will line up and vote down any "no to no deal" and vote down any "new referendum and vote dowan and rescinding of article 50

The extension of article 50 seems to be quietly being ignored as this is the only possible outcome of voting.

We will end up where the 29th march is a definite cliff edge after today (as it was before) and an artificial deadline that the EU cannot abide with of 29th January for a new vote on a newly negoitated backstop which is no back stop at all...

So this entirely boils down to the self interest of the DUP and whether the EU will basically turn round and bully ireland into line.
If the EU doesn't blink then this ones going to be the worst possible outcome and mogg will be quaffing french champagne again.
