It’s been like that for years now. The general selfishness of people. Human race has peaked and will slowly die out

Oh, it's not. **** these Tory pigs.

In regards to this thread though and specifically the UK being **** compared to other places. Its like "everything is especially **** in the UK" I'd say, well, it's not just the UK. It rains in Paris too, its expensive in Germany as well.

    Just saying, thats all.

On democracy, I have long held that in the UK if the ruling party sacks and replaces the PM then it should trigger an election.

We do it with MPs, but not the PM. I understand it's a ruling "party" not a ruling person technically, but for me it's bollocks utter bollocks.

Like it or not, Boris is the elected PM of the UK, not Liz Truss, not Rishi Sunak, but we can just change on a dime if we want to here.

Ah, I was very mindful to not say "compared to". Not lost on me that the US, for example, is a number of places lower in the 'happiness' rating and is far worse than here. I wouldn't swap here for a single country in Central, South America, Africa, Asia. The kids will keep me here for the foreseeable, so I reserve my right to moan about this place because it's just gone to absolute **** for the past 20-30 years.

I think it's a far deeper problem than that. There's zero accountability. These idiots only move on after elections or twitter posts.

If a party comes in there should be clear accountability - maybe 3, 5 or 10 point manifesto - that everyone is clearly voting for and every 6 months they need to clearly demonstrate the efforts made to deliver against that. If they fail to demonstrate after, say, 12 months it should trigger something - sacking for the PM and a vote to replace, under the same party, then after 2 years of failure it's a general election and the ruling party are excluded from the voting.

Nothing we have is fit for purpose. PMQ, whips, Commons, Lords, it's all so utterly, miserably out of date and time it needs to be completely ****ing burned to the ground. Lords in particular is just so ridiculous.

FPTP supports this lack of accountability, the entire system is designed in such a manner.

The Tories, despite a ****ing horrific term are assured to hold onto over 100 seats here purely due to the method we use to vote.

The direct competitor on the right wing for the Tory's, the Reform Party are sitting on 14 pts in the polls, yet we can all predict they won't even keep the 1 seat they have

    Its a terrible terrible system

If the worst comes to the worst we could always just do ourselves in.

Awkward as in the bitching about how the UK is **** and the cost of living crisis, and the suggested solution of a mass cult suicide.

The UK definitely has its issues - the NHS and state of the roads being two of them.
Selling state owned services often means that huge profits will be creamed off and we get a worse and more expensive deal.
I've skipped getting a decent car as the roads aren't up to it.

On the other hand I don't know a country I'd rather live.
