You should have read my previous posts. The default position if May's deal is defeated is to leave without a deal. It does not need support. Amendments to the withdrawal bill can take place but are not legally binding on the PM. I would like to leave without a deal giving us time to negotiate in good time without paying the ransom.

And cripple the country? Food shortages? Medecine shortages? No EU flights?

Just for what exactly? You're yet to give us a single benefit of leaving the EU, especially without a deal.

You are quite correct about amendments not being legally binding. However having been humiliated by a political move today, are you really suggesting that she would try to ride roughshod over Parliament again? You wanted control to come back to Parliament, and now you have it. You should be rejoicing tonight the sensible MPs now have control, and the cult groups have been seen off.

She has every right to ignore amendments brought about due to troublesome rebel remainers. She is now paying the price for her lacklustre gamble on the last GE. Hopefully she will resign when her 'deal' is voted down. There is still time to elect a proper Brexiteer as PM.

You may not have seen it, but the trouble was not coming from the remainers, but the leavers. The leavers in the form of the DUP demolished her as she has clearly gone back on what she promised them, but couldn't deliver. I remember quite clearly your comments before the election about the way that she would have a massive majority which would allow her to drive the talks, and your remarks when you found out that she had lost her majority. Maybe she will resign, but there are no MPs from the cult who stand any chance of getting elected to lead the party.

In fairness you picked the wrong Minister. If he tells you he's sorted out the Transatlantic flight paths he's probably thinking of Transpenine trains...

But most of us are on red alert for no deal and have been for months - and it really isn't pretty. I do get why people call it project fear but we have to work on worst case scenarios and always have.

The government has this morning rightly downplayed the effects of any amendment to the withdrawal bill. The default position of a rejection of May's preferred 'deal' is a 'no deal' situation. Nothing really has changed. The best option now is a change of PM to a Brexiteer followed by a possible short term delay to negotiate. If the EU continue their bullying stance then we leave with no deal and no ransom paid until they begin to negotiate sensibly.

No deal Brexit is "default" position if May loses vote
