I read it and gave you the answer. You obviously do not understand how the system works.

Companies are able to apply to a government agency for an overseas applicant if they can prove they cannot fill a vacancy through the domestic labour market. The UK government will be free to decide on the level and criteria on which this system is based. Much better than a free for all decided by Brussels.
You obviously didn’t understand it then, as it was about the lack of control at a border, the borders you were prattling on that we didn’t protect properly and let all kinds in.

Do you know where that comes from btw?

I was just thinking how lucky Watford are to now have a manager that can create a great spirit in the camp, no sulking now. Such a contrast to a previous selfish coach. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Like every other Brexiteer you run away when you’re stumped, which is often.

I'm sure there is room for vast improvement within our Border Agency. Brexit will mean the UK can add powers not currently available as a member of the EU.

I see some Everton fans have started calling Silva a clown and should be sacked, oh dear! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Any potential points deduction could be vital if you are near the bottom at the end of the season. It would be hilarious if it resulted in relegation for such a 'massive' club

You might be begging fat Sam to return to save you again :emoticon-0136-giggl

Will it? What powers are these exactly?

Do you know where that statement I posted came from? I suspect you maybe don’t.......

Powers that the elected UK government deem necessary after Brexit, much better than the open door policy currently enforced on us by Brussels.

What open door policy? What do you expect will change?

Oh and this btw, you’ve still not given your opinion on it;

“Another common misapprehension is that questions about the border are linked to controlling immigration. In fact immigration is not controlled at the border but at the workplace. Further control is provided by restricting access to the benefits system and to housing”

I have already educated you on how the system currently works. I do not have an opinion of somebody's assertion, I trust the UK government will have a suitable system which is tailored to suit the UK once we are free from the shackles of the EU.

You’ve ‘educated’ me on precisely nothing, you’ve posted some glib soundbites about things changing at our borders post Brexit without saying or even suggesting what they’ll be, which makes your words totally hollow.

Would it shock you to know that the author of that statement was Rees Mogg and his band of Brexit Ultras btw?

I'm not surprised at all. At least they know how the present system works, hopefully you do as well now.

That wasn’t a comment solely on the present system, it was a comment on how they see it post Brexit.

Oh dear.

Yes, they know the present system will be extended to EU potential job seekers as well. There will also be an option to grant short term work permits as employed in other countries.

Davis and Baker had a viable plan that was ditched in favour of Robbin's poor effort which has been rejected by all. A fatal mixture of incompetent civil servants and a remain leaning PM.

The Davis and Baker plan was going to be presented by the ERG. Heavily trailed as being 140 pages of detailed reasoning. Was it pulled by civil servants? Was it pulled by the PM? No, it was pulled by the ERG when people within that faction pointed out the gaping holes in the document. By continuing to argue for something that is flawed and doesn't have the support of even a majority within this strange bunch of traitors, ( Daily Mail description) shows a lack of common sense. It is not a plan that is workable, so why anyone can keep on about it is very strange.

This is another way of saying that nothing will change at the border itself - people from countries such as France and Belgium have never needed Visas to travel to the UK. with, or without either Schengen or the EU, and that is not going to change. Try to change this and you will destroy tourism in the UK. What the text actually meant was that the effective border moves elsewhere ie. access to jobs, housing and benefits. So the expression 'Hard Border' is nothing but hot air. The problem is that there is too much casual, non contract, cash in hand and semi legal work on offer in the UK. this is why so many actually go there. In Germany it would be impossible because every worker has to have a bank account in Germany, be registered with the local authorities, have health insurance here etc. etc. otherwise nothing works. All the controls you need to actually reduce unwanted immigration are actually already there within EU. law.

I see the EU are coming round to see the merit of the ERG's solution to solve the Irish border, all it needed was some common sense from Barnier's motley crew.
