No, I flew back from Spain last night. Bit nippy back in the Home Counties.

Do you comment on the Beeb website SH?

"Just back from Spain, drove on lovely un-congested roads that we subsidized, friend went to a lovely new hospital that we subsidized, came home and realized what mugs we are."

I see that the largest fall in house prices has moved out of London to Rickmansworth with a 7% fall. Getting nearer SH.

Living in France you must be well used to house price drops and stagnant market. My friend in the Tarn took 8 years to sell at 50% of the original value.

Thanks to the massive UK government subsidies for self builders any temporary drop in value is thankfully financially insignificant.

I understand many in the UK are tired of sending large amounts of cash to Brussels. I'm sure the French are pleased to contribute some more after Brexit.

You don't have much of a memory SH. Don't you remember me telling you about the market being very active at present, with sold signs appearing everywhere around here. Big difference that you don't understand though. Many French people do not have an interest in property, they would rather have a large boat moored on the coast, and use it to enjoy their lives.

Why doesn't the UK apply for money that they could have from the EU? It is in part because the government doesn't apply as they have handed over most functions to private companies, who instead of working for the population are satisfying their shareholders.

Property prices in France have been dropping for years. You can sell anything if you drop the price enough. Lack of employment in French rural areas keep prices low, ok for foreign buyers until they want to sell. Many Brits are desperate to return to the UK from France and Spain but can only afford the most basic property after missing out on the rising UK market for years. We met a couple in Spain the other day who had a house near Limoges. They complained how cold their property was in the winter and unfortunately lost heavily when they sold and returned to the UK. They had to choose Lincolnshire due to the relatively lower prices.

Old news, Brexit has moved things on. There will be a much greater amount to invest in the UK once we stop subsidising other EU nations.

Well after the great excitement generated by Moggy and his little band of brothers last week, with the next 24 hours going to change the PM and instate a new order, what has actually happened? Sweet nothing. If a man cannot count up to 48 why should anyone want to believe in his judgement. I hope you got your donation back SH.

I'm happy to contribute towards ensuring the Tories continue to dominate UK politics for years to come. Are you still waiting for your phantom 'middle party' to emerge before you contribute?

It may have passed you by, but moderates from both sides of the chamber came together tonight to defeat the Tories. Well strictly speaking they didn't defeat them because the government turned tail and gave in. I don't expect a new party to form, but I do expect moderates to come together and form policy more. With the DUP throwing their toys out of the pram, expect that to happen more frequently.

So your 'new party' prediction has also bitten the dust. After watching Macron fail miserably they must have decided not to bother.

Listening to hear the brazen machinations of the DUP yesterday..... how on earth the Tories can be in bed with such a self-serving bunch is beyond me...

But on retrospect it shouldn't be.... having seen the behaviour of so many self serving Tory MPs over the last few days....

The frogs are trying to put more pressure on May's deal by insisting French fishermen will still be allowed to fish in our waters after Brexit. The Royal Navy just needs to sink a couple of these pirates to scare the rest off. :emoticon-0105-wink:

You are right Yorkie. As reality kicks in some of them cut very pathetic figures today. Probably time to stop talking about them as they are just a fringe group.
Once again the government has gone to the courts to try and suppress information, and once again have lost. Why they keep spending the money is unfathomable. Just what are they trying to hide all the time?

Well, if nothing else it might stop people shouting "project fear" every time they hear something they don't like....

The DUP are nothing if not an extension to the religious right wing fanatics in the GOP: pence, carson, davros, etc., etc. The late Rev "dr" Ian Paisley got his "doctorate" from the same "university" as convicted fraudster "dr" kent hovind, the "bob jones university" in South Carolina: basically a christian religious hate school.

Worst thing about it all though is that the current crop of tories (jrm, nazinige and his ilk, in particular) have seen what doofus45 and his cronies are getting away with over there and looking to try it on over there. Bigoted, money grabbing, science denying, clockstoppers. I don't think that the word "scum" is anywhere near strong enough for the whole lot of them on both sides of the pond, but it will suffice for now.

I'm really not convinced you particularly like Tories very much :emoticon-0105-wink:

Alas, Mrs Fez is a bit of a fan of the Dead Witch, but even she can't stomach this lot. She voted leave, a decision she bitterly regrets and would vote Remain given the chance. The DWP related deaths; the cuts to the emergency services and the NHS; the proliferation of foodbanks;
HS2; the cuts to the Armed Forces; have all left her, like me, politically disenfranchised.
No, we do not talk politics at home per se but I know her opinions on the subjects mentioned.

I've listed all the things I stand for politically a couple of years ago on these boards. I just detest the blatant dishonesty of the DUP, GOP and the right wing of the tory party.
