Laptops are a pain in the arse. I much prefer a desktop PC. Every laptop I've owned has had some ****ty fault down the line. The screen ****ed on my first HP one, and the power supplies ****ed on my second HP and my Acer one.

May as well just buy one of these, it'd probably last longer.

Good laptop is an oxymoron, all about the real PCs. My Lenovo N200 was great though, until the screen died and a replacement would cost more than it was worth.

haha, very true!

plus, look how ****in' cool they look!!

Yeah that was me. and yeah Acer are not the best, but they are pretty cheap.

Best laptop I ever had was a Sony Vaio 500mhz CPU 8 meg video card, 250meg ram, 11 gig hdd, lasted me about 10 years and ran a bittorrent tracker on the thing for 3 of that (shouldnt really say that but **** it lol). It was £400 off the back of a lorry years ago, they are very expensive though, but they do last.

I still prefer desktops though, but my gfx card alone cost me £500 a couple of years ago, and its just keeping its own GTX295, but will need updating soon :( but at least i can update it.

Is there a GOOD laptop out there? I have a Dell and that ****s up too!

Never had a problem with Samsung, I have two - one of them is some years old and still performs fine. I keep my laptops up on makeshift legs on a desk though to give the fans plenty of breathing space which I guess helps.
Windows broke my Toshiba one though <laugh> I can't run any Windows OS on it at all now no matter how many or how many times I try, bizarre.

Aye I find desktops better but I get more use out of a laptop now, it's just easier. Gonna need a new one sooner rather than later though!

<laugh>!! Brilliant

By the sounds of it though, beardface would probably have less problems with that than he does his current laptop!

Anyway, ladies. Best dash. Gonna attempt to go to the library tomorrow so best get some sleep eh. Have a good'un <ok>

Its not water though, its mineral oil and they do work.

Doubt it, would be cool though to have some fish in as well, but its probably the best cooling for your pc you can get.

I would buy a Lenovo (IBM) Thinkpad. I've had mine for 7 years now. They are built for business use and can take the knocks. Mine lives on the kitchen table and is used by the whole family every day. It's had cornflakes, milk, OJ, sugar etc spilt on it and whilst some of the keys are now a bit crunchy (probably the cornflakes!! ) it just keeps going.
They are big in the workplace at a lot of big companies because they are built well.
No doubt there will be the odd lemon but they are generally very good.
