UEFA seemed to have "gamed" the club coefficients scheme so that
their CL darlings festering in the EL do not lose too many ranking
points :

So qualification for the CL :

1. group stages only earns 1 pt more than doing so for the EL

2. last 16 could result in only 1 pt more than doing so for the EL
(the CL teams get 5 pts more - but the EL has the "round of 32" - so
a team could potentially get 2x2 = 4 pts from that round) .
 
Scottish Saltypool are saying it's Rangers' fault that they issued them with just 800 tickets for the next Old Firm clash at Celtic Park.

Somewhere out there, in the shadows of Rob Newman and Frank Skinner, you'll find David Baddiel nodding in approval to such ****wittery...
 
Went under the radar last week ...

Burnley beat Aberdeen 3-1 (AET) to go to the next EL round.

Their next opponent is Istanbul Basaksehir.
 
La Liga have reached an agreement with Relevant, who organised the ICC that we won in preseason, to host league matches in the US.
**** this ****. The Spanish fans need to jump on this and we need to kick off massively if they try it over here, too.
 
Burnley's match against Adebayor tonight won't be televised in the UK, due to a lack of interest.
That's not very nice, is it?

On the plus side, doesn't that mean there's a stadium going spare in Spain for us to play our match against The Sheikh Mansour Team?
