Let's be honest though, Arsenal playing any semi-decent European team away from home is pretty much a 50-50 at best. I wouldn't fancy our chances against many of those teams right now.

Rennes are 11th in Ligue 1, but the French league is so tight, they are only 4 points behind 4th spot. They also hired a new manager in December and since he's come in, they've won 6 games, drawn 1 and lost 3. So they've not done too badly at all, to be honest.

Then you add in the fact Hatem Ben Arfa will be extra motivated for this after the well-documented spats he had with Emery at PSG, and Rennes have a reputation for being a good counter-attacking team with lots of pace in their frontline, the draw doesn't look that straightforward.

I'm still expecting us to go through, but it will be tough and, stylistically, Rennes could cause us a lot of problems.

@PleaseNotPoll See? I told you!

Rennes have bags of pace in their front line and we have an ageing defence.

I don't think we would have lost if we had 11 v 11, but our in game management of the entire second half was dreadful.

We're not totally out of it yet, but it is going to be a huge task to turn this around at The Emirates next Thursday.

They're awful! <laugh> 2-0 win and you're through. It's easy.

I think you underestimate just how badly we can perform and, equally, you have to factor in the Ben Arfa-Emery beef, in addition to the talent of Ismailia Sarr, who will be keen to impress the top clubs in Europe. He's a talent.

We will need to go all guns blazing in the return leg, which can play into their hands, because they have the speed to kill the tie off for good on the counter.

I think we have a 40% chance of going through.

City 2-0 up. That’s them through to the 1/4’s.

Juventus currently 1-0 up against Atletico, but Atletico lead 1-2 on aggregate.

Bit of a waste of money to watch City playing the blind school. You'd think those fans would have something better to do.But then it's Manchester!

And that is why English youngsters do well in the Buli, it's ****.

I think the gap has widened over the past few years with the decline of Bayern. I was reading an article the other day that highlighted the financial disparity that now exists between the two leagues - which wasn't the case 5 years ago - and tbh the figures were scary.

Compare the push for the winning penalty to that on Son against Dortmund. VAR? Varies Against Ronaldo?

I'm trying to remember some Atletico shots on goal. They did plenty of getting the ball up to/near the penalty area, but then the PL pass sideways or backwards. A rod for your own back,Atletico.

Ronaldo’s records in the champions league is ridiculous. He’s got the most everything basically.

Ajax or Porto please.

Tbh I’d rather face Barca or Juve than another English side

Reckon we will be the ones who get the all English tie

City to get Porto or Tranmere

I wouldn't mind United or Porto. I think we could beat them both. Ajax worry me - they are young, hungry and playing without fear...they remind me of us a few years ago. In our current state though, drawing Porto or Ajax could well lead to us showing the 'arrogant complacency' Poch has highlighted recently and doing ourselves over as we did in our first CL campaign and then applied the icing on the cake against Gent later that year.

I think we can take Juventus. They really aren't that special. City and Barca are the only teams who genuinely scare me.
