No doubt UEFA are using GAAP, EBITDA etc to do the sums. So no "local" creative accounting. The question is whether they have the balls to deal with the advertisers La Liga darlings.
HAHA is this not the most ironic post of 2014!? The reason FFP even exists is because clubs like Chelsea and Man City completely changed the financial landscape of football forever. To hear a Chelsea fan complain about the same thing they caused is hilarious if not slightly wierd.
Was no rule against it when we did it. Now there is. And we have complied, is it too much to expect UEFA to stick to their guns and follow through with what they said they would do vis a vis punishments? I am not complaining about City and PSG spending money, I'm complaining because UEFA made a big song and dance about it, made rival fans jack off and salivate in anticipation of Chelsea and City exploding and melting into nothing upon "EF EF PEEEEE" arriving. We slog our ass off to comply whilst City and PSG don't give a ****, and they end up with a meagre fine and a slap on the wrist. Are you guys disappointed?!
No. The whole point was an attempt to protect the old G14 and it was never going to work. UEFA couldn't give a **** about fair play. They're only worried that their favourite sides will get sidelined by other people matching their spending. They've done nothing about the ridiculous financial situations in Spain and Germany, for example. The top clubs pocket all the money, even more so than over here. But hey, at least they've tried to **** over a few English clubs, eh? They'll be happy about that.
And we expect fairness from Blatter and Platini? Blatter is a total embarrassment, and Platini still holds a grudge against all British clubs (PLEASE dont ask me to explain, I only get banned!) And isn't Patini's son in law on the PSG board? Watch them wriggle ot of the fine
Real Madrid are continuing their restricted spending, taking the FFP completely seriously, by bringing in Falcao on loan from Monaco. It's apparently a £12.5m fee for this season, followed by a £30m-ish transfer at the start of the next campaign, if it goes through. Nice and cheap!
Could be worse - in the NFL you get a four game ban for smoking weed, but a two game ban for beating up women.
