As great a player Nani is I feel he is Ronaldo reincarnated (attitude wise) I feel his heart isn't 100% on United and when he plays I feel he plays more so for himself rather than the team. Valencia is the type of player who will get his head down and get on with his job. You watch Valencia next season he will be on fire. I feel he will have a better season than Nani.
Exactly, we need to keep both of them depending on what opponent we will face and what we need. Also, you forgot to mention Valencia is better at beating an individual full back to get a cross in, and Nani is a defensive liability. Different horses, different courses - we need Nani when we're playing sides that will sit deep and need to be broken down, with wingers covering the full backs, but Valencia for when we're playing sides that will attack us with overlapping full backs and when we're more likely to get Valencia up against the full back one on one.
Also is there not some truth that there is an issue with Valencia's contract in regardsto images right. By some truth I mean I read it in the Sun
Nani is a better crosser and has the most assists of the 2 so therefore is more willing to make the correct pass. nani also shoots, valencia often seems scared to shoot. and we shouldnt sell both I agree.
This guy loves United. Delete your nonsense please Nani, 1 of only a small handful of players who was on his way out and proved to SAF that he wanted to be at United and was good enough. that in itself says alot about Nani. Sure hes vain and shallow as a man, but on the pitch he is a team player. Sometimes he likes to take things into his own hands but thats a good thing. Sometimes teams need dragging through the games where most players are not performing. A player like Nani or Rooney are key in these situtations. Its why SAF tells them to b selfish because they are game changers. He said in an interview last year that he encourages nani to shoot and be a little more selfish at times as hes got the ability to do so.
Spot on. Not that Nani is awful on the cover, hes just not as solid as Valencia who to be fair, has experience in CM aswell which no doubt helps him defensively.
He's not awful when covering his full back, but he does make some crucial errors. The header against Liverpool was just dire, as was losing the ball for Barca's thid goal. Mistakes like that in Europe can make the difference between victory and defeat, and he needs to cut them out if he's going to be first choice in the big games. He also, imo, needs to get better at delivering "inside out" crosses from the left if he's to play regularly on the left. He's the best we have at beating men down the left, but he seems to struggle to put good inswinging crosses in to dangerous areas. That, imo, is the only reason we are going for Young and / or Sanchez - both of them can put in a good ball from the left.
You cant say anything about his crossing from the left when our other winger cant kick at all with his left though lol.
True, but like I said that's why we are in for attacking left wingers! Valencia and Nani are mainly right wingers, so if we get Sanchez or Young (or even both) that doesn't necessarily preclude both of them staying. Particularly given the potential for injuries and the need to rest players over the season. P.S. If we do get Sanchez and withdraw our interest in Young as a result, just watch him go to Liverpool and all the scousers crow about how "King Kenny" has stolen him from under our noses
P.S. If we do get Sanchez and withdraw our interest in Young as a result, just watch him go to Liverpool and all the scousers crow about how "King Kenny" has stolen him from under our noses I was thinking that myself, more-so watch Young play his balls off against us and become a major thorn in our sides for years to come.
Will not happen in a million years so don't worry about it. He has already agreed personal terms I believe.
Hope your right. The prospect of Young joining us has grown on me and I believe he will improve at OT but the prospect of signing Sanchez really would be something else, he has the speed, agility and balance of Best, the guy was born to play for us.
Sanchez believes he is up to the task of showcasing his skills at a bigger club, be it in Italy or abroad, and has revealed that the Theatre of Dreams would be the perfect stage. “Manchester United has been my dream all my life and they would be my first choice” ---------------- I guess we're about to find out if this is true.
I still think Barcelona will be his choice. They speak his native tounge for start in that country. People from warmer climates more often than not prefer warmer climates, they are the best team in the world but I don't think he will be their focal point in the team. If United sign him he can become the main man. It depends if he has the ambition to lead United onto the next level and replace Ronaldo.
