Dyce and Wilding depart on loan . . . .
Sunderland AFC can confirm that Tyrese Dyce and Sam Wilding have left the club on loan.
Dyce has joined Spennymoor Town until May, while Wilding has made the move to Kevin Phillips' South Shields F.C. until the end of the season.
The duo have featured for the first team this campaign in the Papa John's Trophy, with Dyce getting on the scoresheet against Manchester United Under-21s.
Everyone at SAFC wishes the pair the best of luck during their respective loan spells.

is it just the fact there is a lot more info floating around now...i cannot remember as many 'ins and outs' on the youth side as this season.
It is publicised a lot more but saying that, we seem to be more active than most with ins and outs for our u23s. There still hasn't been any official announcement on who got the coaching job when Dickman left. Proctor seems to be doing it but it's not permenant.
aye, forgot all about that as well...maybe concentrating all efforts into sorting the senior side out first although having a good 'supply line' is handy when injuries hit.
We have Wearne, Diamond, Almond and Harris out on loan

Carney, Johnston, and Kelly from what I have seen of them, look very promising. The u23's in general have been a shadow of last seasons batch.
1-1 Norwich finally level the score after 82 minutes, not the worst result of the season, but not great either.

Sounded like we hung on a bit from what I read. Keeper seemed to keep us in it and not many chances created by us. Needs a bit of work this squad for next season if they are going to compete properly imo.
Shame about the late equaliser but that’s not a bad result tonight. Norwich score plenty of goals, we’ve done well to get a draw there IMO

A relentless, attacking second-half display from Norwich City's Under-23s saw the Canaries draw 1-1 at home to Sunderland in the Premier League 2 Division Two on Friday night.
City almost took an early lead when Oscar Thorn's dangerous ball across the face of goal was met by Abu Kamara, but he saw his shot saved by the chest of Jacob Carney.
At the other end, a Sunderland corner was headed over by Zak Johnson before Archie Mair gave the ball away and Caden Kelly gave the away side the lead from distance.
Flynn Clarke had a corner kick parried away by Carney, before a Sunderland corner resulted in a menacing City counter-attack.
Clarke sent Liam Gibbs charging through on goal, but Ethan Kachosa did well to race back and make the tackle.
Carney was called into action again when Clarke found Thorn in the penalty area, the Sunderland keeper protecting a one-goal lead.
Alan Neilson made his first change at half time, Nelson Khumbeni coming on for Daniel Adshead at the start of the second half.
Kamara got in the way of a shot from Clarke, allowing Carney to gather the ball comfortably, before the Sunderland keeper made an impressive save down to his left to deny Clarke, who shot towards the bottom right corner from the left of the area.
City came close to an equaliser again when Clarke poked Gibbs beyond the defence, but his lobbed effort was struck wide by a stretching Thorn at the far post.
The Canaries continued to throw everything at the Sunderland goal, Clarke tucking the ball between his opposite number's legs and seeing a powerful effort saved from a narrow angle before Sean Stewart shot low and straight at Carney.
The crowd at Carrow Road were getting right behind their side as it felt as though a goal was coming, Thorn shooting powerfully to the top right only to see his 80th minute effort saved superbly by Carney.
Eventually, the pressure paid off. Gibbs struck the post from distance, the rebound falling to Joe Duffy, who crossed for Clarke. His shot had too much power for Carney, who could only spill the ball into his own net.

Late maybe but out of interest here's our side of the story ,not a lot different tbh but still a good read and signs are we have another class keeper, and a very young side who will do well next season all being equal.

The result leaves the youngsters 13th in the division with three games still to play.
A youthful squad travelled to East Anglia for the clash to begin April which included Under-18s Kelly, Zak Johnson, Adam Richardson, Henry Fieldson and Marshall Burke, alongside numerous first-year pros as Carney captained the side.
Harrison Sohna, Ethan Kachosa and Tom Scott were among the starting players, along with Cameron Jessup, Ugonna Emenike, Nathan Newall and Nicky Gyimah.
Kelly gave Sunderland an early lead with a great piece of initiative, as the Lads dispossessed Norwich and the young forward caught out the Canaries’ goalkeeper Archie Mair, sending a dipping strike into the net.
This came shortly after Johnson headed a corner delivery over Mair’s crossbar, but chances were admittedly at a premium as the game progressed. The Black Cats preserved the advantage heading in at the break, Oscar Thorn forcing Carney into a smart save and Kachosa sprinted back excellently to deny Liam Gibbs bearing down on goal.
In the second half, Norwich expectedly stepped up the intensity and forced several top saves from Carney, who most notably denied Clarke and Sean Stewart with shots destined for the corners.
Clarke consistently appeared the most potent attacking outlet for Norwich, and he eventually struck the hosts level with 82 minutes on the clock with a powerful finish after Gibbs’ shot had cannoned back off the upright.
No real threat of a winner at either end followed, and the Lads will take confidence from a positive result heading into the final run-in.

Sunderland AFC U23 1-3 Aston Villa U23
Sunderland Under-23s suffered defeat at Eppleton on Monday night despite what was in significant parts a spirited display against Aston Villa.
In an eventful game, Harrison Sohna’s terrific strike opened the scoring, before Brad Young levelled for Villa near half-time.
The visitors’ captain Hayden Lindley curled in a second after the break, added to by Indiana Vassilev’s strike to make it three, before Oliwier Zych denied Tom Scott from the penalty spot.
The fixture was a rearranged game from December after an initial postponement close to kick-off for a frozen pitch on the night. John Hewitson oversaw a young side which included several scholars, alongside three trialists – an alternative 3-4-3 formation started the game.
Jacob Carney again captained the team from between the sticks, with regulars Ellis Taylor, Ethan Kachosa and Cameron Jessup also in the line-up.
Zak Johnson suffered an ankle injury in the first few minutes after blocking a Villa shot, and was unable to continue after a medical assessment on the pitch
Half-chances in the first half-hour included Sohna seeing an effort blocked, Carney denying Declan Frith and Travis Patterson’s shot swerving wide.
But 32 minutes in, the young Lads found the opener in stunning style, as Taylor played a short pass to his left for Sohna, who swept home a dipping strike over the head of Zych and into the far corner from 25 yards against his former club.
Nicky Gyimah on the right of the front three looked lively throughout in perhaps his best game in a Sunderland shirt to date, firing two first-half efforts just wide.
But Villa did respond before the break, Young doing excellently to take down a pass, beat his man and fire a left-footed shot in off the upright.
Nine minutes into the second half saw Sunderland pass up a great chance to regain the lead, as Trialist C was set clear and saw his lob over the on-rushing Zych bounce inches past the far post.
And despite it nearly being another excellent Lads goal, Villa punished it immediately as Lindley neatly opened up his posture and curled a shot into the far corner.
The visitors’ tails were up after taking the advantage, and Carney was forced into action with an incredible save, diving full-stretch to his left to react and deny Vassilev from close range.
Henry Fieldson, on for Johnson early-doors, then produced a strong block to deny Young.
It was to be three for the Midlands side with 14 minutes remaining, as Vassilev created himself space inside the area before finding the far corner with a left-foot strike.
A chance to get back into the game then sprung up for the Black Cats as Gyimah rapidly got in front of his man to reach a ball forward, being clipped for a penalty in the process. Scott stepped up, but saw a right-foot shot saved to his right by Zych.
Villa saw out the win in DH5, as the young Lads now focus on two remaining Premier League 2 fixtures against Birmingham City and Southampton.
