Liability? Robson was in a shooting gallery against Watford who fielded a very experienced side against our youngsters. Take a look at the stats mate. Games played and goals conceded. You don't need to take my word for it. I've nothing against Cartwright other than he's just not very good.
Good for him. I hope the lad does well. Nothing against the kid. I'm just not impressed with what I've seen.
4 clean sheets out of his last 5 games for that Cartwright lad also good to see another young keeper going out on loan Tom Macaulay this will provide good experience playing men’s football
I've seen that. He's having a good run young Cartwright. Well done to him. It will be interesting to see how he does when he comes back to us.
To be honest with you I couldn’t care less how he does . It was just the fact you only slag him off and no one else although he has played for England. You never mentioned the 8-2 thrashing the under 18s got or the Watford goals Robson conceded at fault for all 3
Between the two, I'd say Robson is the better prospect from what I've seen. Nothing against Cartwright, he's pretty good too, but in the games I've seen both play in, Robson edges it for me, his distribution and command of the area are better.
Yes I like a good healthy debate. but we aren’t looking at the every day to day technical side of things that are overlooked by the likes of me and you. I’m in favour of the Cartwright lad who is very agile Wer as Robson is very stiff at time’s also starting positions is a must ie the Watford penalty but it is down to the professionals to decide who is the better talent they are both very raw at 19 Robson’s contact runs out at the end of the season Cartwright has until 2024 but they are pushing each other very hard I would imagine and probably very good friends and will only want the best for each other
Salem seems to be getting regular starts at Linfield now, played 90 minutes in their 1-0 win last night over Ards. Billy Chadwick came on at 60 minutes.
You seem to have a keen interest in something you say you don't care about. You are also talking a lot of complete dross because you have no idea what or who you've seen or who you haven't. Firstly the U18s haven't even played Watford at all this season so an 8-2 thrashing is a figment of your imagination. Our u18s lost 8-2 to Crewe last month but the Goalkeeper would have been Fisk or McCauley. Secondly, Robson doesn't even play for the U18s. I've not seen the Watford 3-1 highlights. Perhaps you could post the link on here please? Then we can all see. My criticism of young Cartwright is based on his comparative performances and goals conceded. The most simple of stats. What else is there? I watch as many games as I can and I've seen a lot of the u23s and U18s as well when both Cartwright and Robson did play there. There's a huge difference in both talent and ability. We aren't talking about fine margins. I was so bemused by this that I went back over the course of last season to find out exactly what the stats illustrate. As last season went on the gulf just kept growing and growing. This is for last season's u23s games only. For the sake of fairness I've removed own goals from team mates and penalties for both goalkeepers. Cartwright Played 12 Conceded 19 (+ 1 pen and 1 og from team mate.) Also saves 1 pen Robson Played 11 Conceded 6 (+2 pens 2 ogs from team mates). Saved 2 pens. The numbers speak for themselves. I don't know either of these lads at all, so I've no axe to grind on that score. I hope both of them go on to have succesful careers and have a great life. I just want Hull City to be run properly and the right decisions made about players. That's not happening. I compiled the stats because I initially had concerns about the indecision and completely bizarre way that Long and Ingram were alternated the season we were relegated. It was clear as day to a man on a galloping horse that Mi was a far better keeper than GL but GL was persisted with regardless of results or performance. McCann only realised that MI was the better of the two after Long was 'injured' at the start of last season. I will go as far as saying that we may well not have been relegated at all had MI played the games that GL was picked for during the previous season. Apart from the onslaught at Wigan (when Long played). GL was subsequently dropped for the 0-1 home defeat by Cardiff and then reinstated. What all of this indicates to me is that the coaches do not have the faintest clue what they are doing with goalkeepers. It's abysmal. We've thankfully got the best keeper starting in the first team but it's been as much down to good luck as anything. It's a similar situation to Coyle and Elder v Emmanuel and Fleming. There's a clear pattern here.
Jack firstly I was just giving references to goals conceded against Crewe 8-2 but you didn’t call the goalkeeper for that yes it was under 18s and yes it Tom mcauley between the sticks . 2 there is a post with the Watford goals on on page 5 of this topic. 3 to say I have a healthy interest in in something I’m not really bothered about came from the fact of reading your slagging off of Cartwright on numerous occasions ie when he was given a squad number you hit the roof also reporting on Cartwright against Swansea although he made some decent saves you had to slag him off cyber bullying So it’s you who are delusional and got beef with it my little keyboard warrior you are pretty pathetic to be honest with you . Also Cartwright went to St. George’s park with England in August and is on standby for England under 20s this week I will see if I can find the article I read . But never mind jack you stick to your weird beliefs take care another thing conceding goals doesn’t make you a bad goalkeeper take a look a Leeds Utd number one prime example of a modern day young goalkeeper
Don't see much of the 23s so can't comment but you aren't saying Fleming is better than Elder, are you?
Interesting questions being asked on that Twitter thread, re. Smith and Festus playing. Recalled? Stock takes? Hmmn. Andy Smith was on the bench for Salford on Saturday and also started for the 1st team when they played in the Papa John's last week, Salford had taken Smith on loan for the season. Seems odd.
