Will Couch 17yr old Burnley midfielder played for Sheffield Wednesday under 23’s on Saturday. Looks like they are getting rid of a few under 18’s. Strange that all three were regular players at under 18 level but trialing at under 23’s’.

A lot of young lads looking for first team pathways now. They’re going to be spending abit next season to try bounce straight back. Might not always be a case of them being let go anymore given the lack of first team opportunities in some teams

We have 19 players out on loan. Here, we take a look at how our loanees are getting on…

Henry Curtis & Sam Deacon at Hall Road Rangers:

Under-18s duo Sam Deacon and Henry Curtis started for Hall Road Rangers in a professional 4-1 away victory against Parkgate. Curtis scored his first goal for Rangers just four minutes into the game and was replaced by Randell Williams’ brother Elliot in the 76th minute, while Deacon played the full match.

Tom Nixon & Harry Lovick at Pickering Town:

Full-back Tom Nixon played the full 90 minutes as Pickering secured a vital 3-2 away win against Sheffield FC, closing the gap to the relegation play-off to five points. Meanwhile, Harry Lovick has finished his loan spell with the Pikes, having made 13 appearances and provided one assist.

Andy Smith & Callum Jones at Grimsby Town:

In the National League, Andy Smith made his 10th appearance for Grimsby Town as they defeated Chesterfield 4-1 at the Proact Stadium. Ex-Hull City academy midfielder Gavan Holohan scored the pick of the goals with the Mariners currently sitting in the final play-off place, having earned 62 points from 36 games. Callum Jones is still recovering from injury.

Louis Beckett & Oliver Green at Bridlington Town:

Fellow on-loan duo Louis Beckett and Oliver Green helped Bridlington Town secure a 2-0 home victory over Ossett United. Green started the fixture and was replaced by Beckett in the 73rd minute, with Green being voted the Seasiders’ Man of the Match.

    Harry Fisk at Tadcaster Albion:

Staying in the Northern Premier League East Division, goalkeeper Harry Fisk produced another impressive display as Tadcaster came from 2-1 down at half-time to win 3-2 against high-flying Stockton Town. In what was the shot-stopper’s seventh appearance for the club, Fisk made a very important save in second-half injury time to help Tadcaster secure all three points.

    Andy Cannon at Stockport County:

Midfielder Andy Cannon sadly couldn’t help Stockport County reach Wembley as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Wrexham in the FA Trophy semi-finals. Wrexham’s Paul Mullin scored two injury-time goals to send the Dragons to Wembley, with Cannon playing 63 minutes before being substituted for Ryan Croasdale.

    McCauley Snelgrove at Cleethorpes Town:

Returning to the Northern Premier League East Division, McCauley Snelgrove helped Cleethorpes Town secure a play-off place with a 3-0 victory over Frickley. The winger played 69 minutes before being replaced Josh Venney, as second-half finishes from Jack McMenemy, Jordon Cooke and Scott Vernon secured the Owls the win.

    Will Jarvis at Scarborough Athletic:

In the league above, Will Jarvis started for Scarborough Athletic in a 2-1 away loss against Nantwich Town. Despite Michael Coulson scoring for the Seagulls, Jonathan Greening’s side suffered defeat, with Jarvis playing 69 minutes before being replaced by Jake Day.

    James Scott at Hibernian FC:

North of the border, James Scott made his 12th appearance for Hibernian in a 1-1 draw against Dundee United. The forward came on in the 81st minute for Joe Newell as ex-Tiger Shaun Maloney’s side currently sit in sixth place in the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership table.

    Matty Jacob at Gateshead FC:

Returning to England, Matty Jacob made his 32nd appearance for Gateshead in a 1-0 away defeat against fellow title contenders Brackley Town. The full-back replaced Taylor Charters on 86 minutes as James Armson’s spot-kick ended the Heed’s 10-game unbeaten streak and moved Town level on points with Gateshead. Both teams have 77 points, with Gateshead still leading the league on goal difference, but Brackley have one game in hand.

    David Robson at Farsley Celtic:

At the other end of the National League North table, David Robson was an unused substitute as Farsley Celtic suffered a 3-1 away defeat to third-placed AFC Fylde. Despite Frank Mulhern netting from the spot to cancel out Lewis Butroid’s own goal, a second-half brace from Nick Haughton condemned the Celt Army to defeat.

    Josh Hinds at Gainsborough Trinity:

Forward Josh Hinds was an unused substitute as Stefan Galinski’s 90th-minute equaliser rescued a point for Gainsborough Trinity in their fixture against South Shields. Hinds has made three appearances for Trinity since his temporary switch to the Northern Premier League side.

    Rio Dyer at Cinderford Town:

Second-year scholar Rio Dyer was not named in Cinderford Town’s most recent team as they defeated Bideford 2-0 away from home.

    Jevon Mills at Falkirk:

Returning to Scotland, fellow Under-18s member Jevon Mills wasn’t named in Falkirk’s squad as they suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Montrose. The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international has made six appearances for Falkirk, with them currently sitting in fifth place, seven points off the play-off places.

    Ahmed Salam at Linfield:

Finishing in Northern Ireland, Ahmed Salam is preparing for a top-of-the-table clash against Cliftonville on Saturday (9th April, KO: 5:30pm). The Blues are on a six-match winning streak and are four points clear of second-placed Cliftonville, who have played a game less.

A good win that at Ipswich, they were going well. Those Burnley lads look a good possibility.

The U18's particularly are fielding younger players, due to those going out on loan.
