Off Topic U23's Thread for season 2021-22

We got a decent deal for the U23s to play in a good stadium, the thinking is that it provides them with a more professional feel than playing at somewhere like Ferriby. Which is harsh on Ferriby because they could use the income.

 

If I was Adam Pearson 20 years ago, I'd buy York. Flip em in L2 to some celeb chancers like 'deadpool' Wrexham and walk away with 6 figures.

... Bit like when he flogged us to a chancer so he could buy Derby and flog them to a chancer and walk away with enough to buy FC knowing full well he didn't have to foot the cost of running a stadium.

Something must've gone on with Matt Smith. Prominent at the start, then the Wales 'fitness' debacle, now making his name on a Monday night at the York Community Stadium for the 23's.

 

Good to see Tyler Smith get a couple, that will help his confidence.

 

I'm hearing he got his fingers burnt at Derby and still has money tied up there which he cannot get out. I also heard, although not confirmed, that the Allams were offered FC three times before AP took them on. They have zero interest in Hull FC. Also hearing AP would off load FC this morning if he could.

 

The way the club's been run in recent times has largely prevented this sort of relationship from forming. No effort seems to have been made whatsover. It's a shame because it's a bloody good idea for a club like ours, geographically. We should be doing this with not just York City but other clubs in the region etc down to Lincs and across into Leeds territory. It would help recruitment and development no end.

Very good win well done Cartwright very busy and made some fantastic saves I don’t think the first team lads was that bothered if I’m honest but sometimes that happens unfortunately

 

McCauley Snelgrove has joined Cleethorpes Town on a month's loan.

He'll piss that league.

Also watching Salam play for Linfield against Larne tonight, he's forced his way into the first team and he's doing well.

 

There's no U23s games for the next month, which is why they're all going out on loan.

Hard luck to Harry Lovick, Snelgrove joins 4th placed Cleethorpes, he has to join bottom of the league Pickering.

 

McCauley Snelgrove came on on at 68 minutes and scores in Cleethorpe Town loss to Marske United 3-4.

 

Trialist B got 2 of the goals whoever he was.
