Just had my update email from the club telling us that 16 of the U23s have signed new terms with the club
Interesting for several reasons:
- I suspect that this is an indication that we will be looking to bring more youngsters through into the first team rather than shifting in paid for transfers (and potentially fewer loanees). May not be for 20/21 season but maybe planning for 21/22
- of the 16, 1 is a GK, 7 defenders, 7 midfielders but worryingly only 1 striker. This clearly remains an issue at the club generally, and if Hugill goes in the summer I hope we've some realistic targets lined up
