Me mates son's in there. Told me down Wembley he'd been given a 2 year deal. Hope he smashes it. Top young lad from a top family
Looking forward to some analysis from @Scout73 on these lads. Once he's finished on the transfer thread of course.
Ive heard this lad is a really really good prospect... https://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/...fter-completing-dream-sunderland-move-5205735
Tom Proctor, AMC James Barker, ST Jay Brown, MC Arron Bowman, DL Matthew Burns, MC Lewis Campbell, AMRL, ST Joseph Cowan, GK Charlie Hamilton-Forsyth, DC Harry Hunter, AMRL Alex Lienard, DC, MC Jay Matadeen, AMRLC Finlay Robertson, GK Caleb Shakespeare, AMRLC Robert Walton, DR Positions are just what I could surmise from the article, they might be slightly off. Add these to the likes of: Ben Metcalf, GK Bayley Hester, DRL George Bell, DL Finlay Holcroft, DRC Ben Kindon, DC Archie Lightfoot, DL Charlie Dinsdale, MC Liam Hunt, MC Jayden Jones, MC Joseph Neild, MC Felix Scott, AML Ivan Struk, DM Jack Whittaker, AMC Finn Geragusian, ST Marcus Neill, ST Probably worth adding quite a few of these, although eligible for the u18s, are likely to play more for the u21s next season, Jayden Jones for example played a lot for the u21s last season and the expectation is that he has only got better since then.
Was just looking through transfermarkt at our u18s and u21s for players listed as born in Sunderland, seems a lot of the data is missing for birthplace, but noticed Newcastle u18s and u21s had some players listed as born in Sunderland. Aidan Harris, GK, U21s https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aidan-harris/profil/spieler/1019170 Jude Cogdon, Midfielder, U18s https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-cogdon/profil/spieler/1127330 Henry Johnson, Centre back, U18s https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/henry-johnson/profil/spieler/1169958 Matthew Taylor, Midfielder, U18s https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matthew-taylor/profil/spieler/1169968 Can't help but wonder if they had the chance to join the lads? Maybe they didn't, maybe they turned us down, maybe they've been apart of their youth sides since we were in the doldrums (parents thought it was a better option), maybe they're just Geordies who just happened to be born in Sunderland Royal Hospital. Makes you think.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi get a renewal as he is now in his last season and has been watched by Liverpool, might be worth tying him down and considering getting him a loan for the season. Ethan Moore and Timur Tutierov listed as expired with no +1 on transfermarkt, what happens to Ethan Moore at this point is anyone's guess, a big talent but hasn't been seen for two years. Tutierov has done okay for the u21s but not sure if that's enough to suggest he can make it here. Neither of these players were listed as released on the retained list. I also feel like we tend to wait until the players are 18, with some notable exceptions, to turn the players pro, so I wouldn't necessarily expect to see the likes of Geragusian to go pro this summer (even though he has looked very good).
Ben Middlemas Timur Tutierov Ethan Moore Our Under-21 trio have all signed new deals on Wearside! ✍️ Sunderland AFC is delighted to confirm that Ben Middlemas, Timur Tutierov and Ethan Moore have all signed new deals with the Club. Having signed their first pro contracts two years ago, the trio have committed their future by extending their stay on Wearside. Academy Manager, Robin Nicholls said: "We’re really pleased to have reached agreements for Timur Tutierov, Ethan Moore, and Ben Middlemas to remain with the club. Timur has adapted brilliantly since joining us from Ukraine, showing great athleticism and an instinct for finishing that make him an exciting wide player. "Ethan has faced a really tough period with injury, but continues to show resilience and determination. We’re looking forward to helping him get back to his best. "Ben has made excellent progress since stepping into the Under-21s, becoming one of our highest-impact players in key areas of our game. Each of them has unique qualities, and we must continue to provide the right development pathways as they push towards senior football." Ben Middlemas has spent his footballing upbringing on Wearside, becoming well-known for his technical ability in the midfield. Most recently, Middlemas has been at the heartbeat of Graeme Murty's side, featuring 28 times across the 24-25 campaign, often wearing the captain's armband. This included five appearances during a short loan spell with National League North side, South Shields. Middlemas was just 16 when he was named on the first-team bench for the first time, against Manchester United in the EFL Trophy. He was then called up again in January 2023, in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round at Shrewsbury Town.
