Really?

I am more concerned about the person who had the original conversation that must have decided " Oh yea, just turf em out their seats' they've only been sat there for 16 years they wont care" this is a trait we have seen at our club before on many occasions..

Whoever decided to make that original decision needs to be looked at very hard, they do literally treat us like cattle sometimes.

Another unnecessary PR disaster that could have been avoided with just a little thought.

Get yer act together Bristol City commercial management...
 
We are ****ing awful at PR across the board and this is bad even by our low standards.

The sooner Sexstone leaves and someone with an ounce (or should that be 30g?) of an idea how to run a Commercial Dept arrives the better.
 
Meh, I can see why people were pissed off but as someone on otib looked up it's the two blocks with lowest ST numbers so the logical place for a family enclosure to go. Could've been handled a lot better by the club but at the end of the day if all goes well everyone's gonna have to move in 3 or so years anyway. People may have been there for 16 years, but we need to get a decent younger following that don't just support Arsenal, Man U etc on Sky, hopefully the family enclosure will be a good thing in the long run.
 
I don't know, when I was made redundant in 2008 I said I was not interested in my profession no more, but within a year I was back.
Coppell has been out now for nearly 2 years so he could say he is rested and regenerated!

Plus I have always believed that there is something fishy about why he left, maybe he saw what we had and thought 2 years fighting relegation could be too much. Plus could off been promised something's that never happened.

Don't care I think we have a hungry manager, who has not been able to get anyone yet full time as do you pay them championship wages or 1st division, that goes for players and staff. Think we will see a completely different team next season with hunger and passion.

Jambo, you dont just turf loyal fans out of their seats with a terse letter saying you're moving mate, if they had discussed it with them first etc, fair enough. but we have a past history doing this and I just think, will they ever learn..

As far as a family enclosure is concerned I agree with your points, in fact I would go as far to suggest that a section should be found where kids say under 12 HAVE to sit, I say this because a lady with her 2 small sons sat behind me yesterday in the dolman stand, they obviously weren't regular football goers by listening to their comments (and very middle class!) but I thought it was joyous that what would appear to be a single mum found that she could bring her kids to a Bristol City game probably due to the cost making it accessible for her.

However,

The downside of this is they were mixed in with some big old working class blokes with a fair bit of industrial language flying about (I forgot myself once or twice) and I heard one of the kids say "I can hear a lot of F--ing and c--ing around here" which was almost funny because he was very posh but his mum shusssed him and said "be quiet" and I fear she felt a bit intimidated.
Her face was a picture when we scored the second as a lot of frustration came out in the celebrations around us and I wonder if they would have been a bit scared by it all. (probably!)

But yes, the kids need a DRY AREA, where they can begin their city supporting days in a family atmosphere, this needs to be considered in the new stadium, absolutely, but remember football is traditionally a working mans sport and I grew up in the 'old days' atmosphere and so has my son..

Maybe we do need to move on though..
 
I know i shouldn't say it, but bloody hell i hate the kids in the east end, they dont watch the ****ing game they run round every where and there parents dont give a ****, and it was even worse when i was in the dolman they would always want to get in and out there seats so you had to keep getting up, half way through i lost it and told them to stop ****ing moving around, funny enough didnt see them much after that

So yes i would like a section of the ground where they can all go, sorry if i sounded like a bellend then but it does get on me wits
 
To be honest we all started going to the gate at an early age, so a bit of ****ing swearing didn't do me any bastard problems you ****ers;)

City have no understanding - full stop.

I had a car space in the Winterstoke car park for years. Then the 'terse' letter came in the post basically saying you're booted out because we need car spaces for the 'Premium' seating area in the Williams Stand. I still can't forgive the sods turfing me out for the 'Prawn Sandwich' brigade.
 
Sometimes you think that nothing changes at The Gate. The Board did the same thing circa 1977/78 with seats in the last two blocks in the Dolman at the Covered End (Wedlock) as they had to find somewhere for the away fans who wanted to sit down. So they moved us to the middle block at suitably higher prices.
Plus they were "adjusting" attendance figures on a regular basis. For example 35,000 inside got marked down to 29,000 and so cash disappeared out of the club instead of funding new players to keep us up there in dear old Div One.

But I do agree that we have to have a real push for new younger supporters and as no parents will let the little ones out of their sight for a second these days, then we have to get the parents in as well. It's not a male working class sport anymore so let's welcome the middle classes.

A new stadium would solve this by making 25/30% of each stand for families. But we can't get past the Nimby's can we!

By the way, the first adult I ever heard using the "F" word was at Ashton Gate. Not a member of the crowd but a Forest player who had a go at a team mate "I said hold the f***ing ball, not head it to them". This was followed by some very good humoured banter from the crowd in front of the old "Cowshed" stand. Happy days when even at eight years of age I was able to follow City home and away without the obligatory bunjee rope attaching me to a parent.

30g would be a good ounce, 25g an about an ounce 28.375 would be almost to the milligram spot on...
so to get a result we need to 28.375 on Sat!!!!!!
