Anyone watching the Joshua v Whyte fight?

Come on Joshua, knock his ****ing head off!

Brutal knockout. First shot scrambled Whyte's brain big time, Joshua chased him and then nailed him with a quality uppercut. Whyte was asleep before the follow up shot was thrown!

Hopefully it's obvious to everyone that all the talk of AJ competing with Fury is premature.

Tonight showed exactly where AJ is. Still miles to go. Huge learning there.

Same for Campbell although in defeat.

Really?

I reckon Whyte punches harder and faster than Fury, so AJ would win easier against the Bi-Polar one :)

Yeah, I guess toiling to beat Dillian White is a far more impressive feat than dominating a ten year undisputed champ.

It's about levels. That result will have done a great deal for Joshua. But it does demonstrate exactly where he's at. He's nowhere near ready..... Yet.

AJ needs to take his time and develop properly but I think he is already better than Fury.

Interesting comments from Steve Bunce last night - basically said it's amazing how all the experts that now claim Klitschko is washed up didn't say it before the fight. Personally I cannot abide Fury and will be pleased when he eventually gets relieved of the titles but you cannot take anything away from the manner in which he won the title.

What was that on Dan?

I agree - I don't question his ability and think people have been quick to denigrate his achievement because they don't like him. You have to differentiate between the bloke in the ring and the one outside it.
It's a tough one.

Look back across this thread, I've been critical of his ability at times, or certainly his commitment to making the most of his ability. I've called him limited and flawed.... He probably was when I said it but His uncle has ironed out a lot a lot of the **** traits.... The in ring ones anyway and he deserves massive credit for that.

There are personality traits that people will never warm to. But he's just beaten a ten year champion comprehensively.

I'd go even further than you. There's the guy in the ring, the guy outside the ring and the guy in fight mode. Most casual fans think Tony Bellew is a total and utter **** because they only ever see him in "fight mode" but most of the rest of the time he's a decent, humble guy.

It's great to read through this thread years later. Some of these comments in 2015 are spot on, and some reflective of my own thoughts then but have since been proven hilariously incorrect!

I wonder if this board can be revived seeing as nobody posts. I love boxing and hate how Americanized Non-stop boxing is. It would be great to have a British hub to discuss.

Tyson Fury is a fighter but don't make the mistake of considering him to be a boxer.

He's a huge thug with a tiny bit of technical ability - he can't/shouldn't fight at world-level because he will get hurt... actually i'd pair him with Wladimir Klitschko next fight...<whistle>

This is brilliant.....this guy is about as accurate as the IS friendly fire corp. Lol
