Ali v Frazier II Ali 212 Frazier 209 Ali v Foreman Ali 216 Foreman 220 They aren’t heavyweights anymore. It’s the Fat Lump division.
Nah they're just bigger these days. Uysk and Wilder prove, though, that that extra weight is kind of b/s. Wilder was 211 when he almost KO'd fury the first time. Usyk will probably beat Joshua at 210.
It may be an “old person viewpoint but I honestly don’t rate Fury or Whyte in boxing terms. I don’t think the extra weight is anything other than excess weight. Fury can “fight” but he can’t box. I know there’s not just one way to box but for me Fury doesn’t box his style is more like a street fight between travellers. Obviously there were “lumps” knocking about back when Ali was king but at heavyweight I struggle to see any excellent pound for pound boxers anymore. It’s all about so called power for which a lot just think “more weight”. I liked watching Usyck as he actually boxed and didn’t really on being the best big lump which usually seems to mean heaviest person in the ring. Don’t worry my Old Man would go on about Liston and Patterson but then again Ali beat both of them as well.
I hear what your saying but where Fury lacks in looks and style he makes up for it by clever boxing. Have you ever met him or been close to him. He’s a ****ing giant and his arms are extremely long. Which doesn’t make him look like a fit boxer but here is why he is the worlds best….. He can’t take a punch and he would have destroyed Joshua. Fury is a proper old fashioned brawler but he’s learned what his weaknesses are. Fury wins tomorrow pending a nasty lunch from Whyte which is possible. Whyte hasn’t said much at all pre fight which makes me think he means business. No ****e talking so he has a chance.
Well that’s a first, the challenger has to make lunch pre fight. Bit open to abuse if you ask me. Been done before allegedly. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2006/may/08/newsstory.sport2
