    MATCH PREVIEW
    • Barnsley have not beaten Everton in any competition since December 1951 (D2 L6, including the Full Members Cup).
    • Everton have been eliminated in their last five away League Cup games, last winning back in September 2009 at Hull.
    • Barnsley have only won one of their last nine League Cup games in normal or extra time, though they have won two of their last four via a penalty shootout.
    • Indeed the Tykes have failed to score in five of their last six League Cup matches at Oakwell.
    TEAM NEWS
    Barnsley have on-loan pair Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell will be included in the squad to face Everton.

    Manager Lee Johnson has no fresh injuries to report and is likely to name his strongest side.

    Everton's Bryan Oviedo will make his first start since February after stand-in left-back Brendan Galloway sustained a knee injury.

    Leighton Baines (ankle), Steven Pienaar (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (knee) and Darron Gibson (foot) are all still out.

    John Stones - who joined Everton from Barnsley in 2013 - handed in a transfer request on Tuesday.

    And great to see Rochdale get knocked out yesterday by Hull. Incidentally the Tykes travel to Rochdale for the their next League game so that will have to get a match thread also!
