A stat I didn't notice earlier: we only had 34% possession, but 28% of play happened in Arsenal's third, substantially more than the 23% took place in our own danger area.

From the BBC website about the Man City game: ...
"18-year-old Ramsay was handed a debut in the 3-1 defeat by Manchester City at St Mary's and was part of the youngest Southampton starting XI for five years. The players who took to the field had an average age of 24 years and 274 days, which was the youngest since a 1-1 draw with Newcastle in December 2013."

Lovely stat!
Just a shame it was against the mighty Manchester City & their billion pound team!

3-1 is not bad at the end of the day, but could have been better.

If we maintain our current position, we'll become the first team in PL history to finish one spot out of the drop zone in consecutive years.

Not that it feels like points dropped for once, but technically that is us moving back above Fulham to lead the way in points dropped from a winning position. I believe we are now on 20, with Fulham on 18.

Long way to go for that record, from the looks. Spurs in '07-'08, Wimbledon in '99-'00 and Chelsea in '95-'96 dropped 33 points from winning positions.

It's theoretically possible that we could take the record and stay up. We merely need to lead every one of our remaining nine matches, finishing with 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. That'd give us 39 points and 35 points dropped. I believe!

“Ralph Hasenhüttl has officially made a better start to life on the south coast than Mauricio Pochettino.

Ralph: P14 W5 D3 L6 Points 18

Poch: P14 W4 D5 L5 Points 17

Trust we’re in the right hands.”

Just seen this on twitter. Unbelievable stat given the state of our squad!
