So what should be done now? I say - along with Dave Jones - Leeds fans banned from away grounds for the rest of the season plus they lose the point they gained from this match that led to the incident in question.

Harsh? Maybe - but if they let it go or just give Leeds a fine or a slap on the wrist its going to start happening more often.

How? You think the kind of person who would do that really cares?
 
I'm not gonna tar all Leeds fans with the same brush, if we were in the lower tier two weeks ago it could have been us, Hillsborough just seems to be attracting morons recently for some reason.

The idiot last night wasn't a football fan or even a Leeds fan, he was a parasite who's latched onto football because it's easy to cause trouble there. Whilst people continue to celebrate hooliganism and defend morons like this guy or the ones who latched on to us last week this is going to continue to happen.

I've already seen Leeds fans on Twitter already blaming the police, stewards, The FA, Geoff Shreeves, David Cameron, The Pope and Michael Buerk. Basically anyone but the moron who did it. It's disappointing, but I guess people feel the need to blame "their fans" when people make sweeping generalisations.

Also on a side note, why the **** was Dave Jones saying 'racism' every five words or so, made no sense whatsoever.

The fans throwing missiles? The fan who ran onto the pitch flicking off the goalie as he is being hit in the face? The fans who hid him from the police? Was it every fan? No, clearly. Does it implicate and tarnish all of your fans who were there? Yes it does, just as it would for any team that had a similar train of events.

Clearly this one event is not the reason people here dislike your team and your fans and you know that.

How many of those "kinds of people" are there? If those who patted this guy on the back are genuine Leeds fans and were as appalled by his actions as everyone else then why did they try to hide him? A strong deterrent to those fans - if they are genuine - might prevent any of them who thought it was clever from being tempted to do the same at another ground.

I've watched the footage again now and, while I just accepted it before I looked again, I don't see anyone patting him on the back as people claim. I see people continuing to celebrate a goal while he climbs up through the stand. I may be wrong but I think some people are reading a lot into that.

As for people trying to hide him I wouldn't know about that, but an idiot/thug going to a football match with a small group of like minded twats wouldn't surprise me.

The fact is the vast, vast majority of Leeds fans who were at the game had nothing to do with it and he was roundly condemned (aswell as named and shamed) by the respectful majority afterwards.
 
However I would say that more needs to be done to stop these people getting into matches. I saw a Leeds fan suggest am "away passport" that had your picture etc. on it, so you couldn't just borrow a mate's membership card.

Aaron Cawley needs to be punished, and we need to make sure people like him stay away from the game we love, but implicating every single Leeds United supporter in his actions is ridiculous.
 
It's not as easy as simply banning Leeds United's away support, as the owners of those clubs would be up in arms at the thousands of pounds of lost revenue from one of the country's largest travelling contingent

It would also ignore the countless times we've travelled away, and to bigger rivals than Wednesday, and caused no trouble at all.

The idiot last night was a Leeds fan. The LUFC tat on his neck was a bit of a giveaway.
 
Nor will blanket blame ever be the answer in any situation. How the **** can people tarnish all 5000 with the same brush?

The behavior of any football fan does not and never will not represent everyone else who attends.

It's good to know that fans of other clubs actually have a brain and recognize that the events of yesterday doesn't go for everyone, regardless of what they think of the club and it's fans in general.

Before we come over all holier than thou we should maybe consider a similar position we were in during the run in to our promotion season. At Bramall Lane a **** of our own got on the pitch & confronted fat Kenny. We were then only one physical push away from the position Leeds are in now. How would we then have felt had we been deducted points or indeed banned from away games?

Not sticking up for Leeds fans, in general I despise them, their club, owner, manager & owner. In general they live in a land of delusion but on this occasion a few proper ****s shouldn't be able to spoil it for the everyday run of the mill Leeds scum ****.

Kenny offered out the lower tier and the kid (wrongly) took him up on it.

Fat weasel **** of man - doesn't surprise me he has ended up at the Jimmy Savilles of the Championship. with 'hear no evil see no evil' Warnock as his manager.

Leeds really are a set if ****s- dress it up how you want, plead extenuating circumstances, blame the bankers, blame Thatcher, global warming etc- but the fact remains Leeds are ****s.

1. Yes, thousands of Leeds fans on social media sites and phoning West Yorkshire Police
2. The guy it fell on is on WACCOE, says it was an accident and is blaming the safety of the ground/sign, rather than the fans above. Obviously I can't say whether that's true or not but he was closer to the incident than any of us.

And I'm guessing then that your fans have never engaged in any distasteful chanting. I have no problems with people spilling onto the edge of the pitch during a goal celebration as long as they cause no trouble, which happens at the vast majority of Leeds matches. Those who pulled out seats (I only saw one) can't be defended and should be banned for life if found, which I'm sure they would be.
 
Was there a decent question asked just then NO.

I only watched on TV but clearly you were there if you know the answers to them.

Now, if the Hillsborough cameras were working then they will all be caught. The majority were there to watch a match, and nothing else.

He was also named almost immediately and he was made known to the public almost instantly through social media, by Leeds fans.
