Official confirmation........

Tweet from Official Rovers Twitter...

"Will Packwood and Alex Henshall join from Birmingham and Man City respectively."

Info on Will Packwood:

William Packwood (born 21 May 1993 - Aged 20) born in America who plays for Birmingham City in the English Football League Championship. He plays as a midfielder or defender. He made his first-team debut in August 2012 in the Football League Cup.
He joined Brum at age 14 years. He progressed through the academy teams, playing for the U18's and Reserves while still a schoolboy, and eventually captaining the U18's in the 2010-11 season.
In July 2011, Packwood signed his first professional contract, a two year contract expiring in July 2013. Packwood made his first-team debut on 14 August 2012, starting at right-back in the first round League Cup match against Barnet. He kept his place for the opening match of the 2012–13 Football League season, a 1–1 draw at home to Charlton.
During the second half of an FA Cup tie at Leeds United on 5 January 2013, Packwood was carried off the field after sustaining multiple fractures to his tibia and fibula after landing awkwardly from an apparently innocuous aerial challenge. He underwent two surgical procedures in the days after the injury, and his recovery time was estimated at between nine and twelve months. Despite his injury, Packwood was offered a further year on his contract to run until the summer of 2014.
He has made 5 league appearances for Brum and 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup game = 7 appearances. He hasnt played on loan elsewhere!
He has represented his country USA U17's 3 times, U18's 5 times and USA U20's 9 times.

Ward on Packwood and Henshall:
"We have got two young players in to complement the squad. Alex is a Swindon boy, so he knows this part of the world, and he is looking for an opportunity to get going. Will is highly rated at Birmingham, so much so that they don’t want him cup tied. There is not huge experience in the boys, but they complement the group, and they want to be here and want to get going, and enhance their own careers as well as help us. New faces in a football club tend to give the whole group a bit of a lift, so I am looking for these next two days to be very positive"

Higgs on on Packwood and Henshall:
“I would like to welcome Alex and Will to the club, and thank their respective clubs for allowing them to come to us. I hope they enjoy their time with us, and can make a positive contribution to the side."

Henshall will take squad number 16 and Packwood 22.

Packwood on joining Rovers. Seems a good lad.

Apparently Jake Green is also 'in the building'. Solid and pacey LB who has been training with us for
a while now, playing in all the recent Development Squad games. Played for the 'Reserves' v Cheltenham
earlier this week.
