The key but, as mentioned, is it would decrease their value and I am sure agents are completely against it. I can imagine it's an issue the club and the player could do without. The real sea change will come when the clubs and agents see it as a positive publicity issue and it could enhance the player as a role model. Sadly the prevailing terrace chanting is still there to undermine this, so I can guess no one wants to go first and see if the balance has tipped... As for rugby, Alfie is a legend and British lions captain and I doubt anyone dares tease him. We don't have that type of attitude in football yet. Fans love to pick fights and taunt so it's an obvious magnet for abuse. Not sure people care so much now, but it will still translate into vile chanting despite this. But sad really but the terraces love an angle to get into a player. If they can chant you fat bastard at athletes then what chance does a gay player have!
Players themselves can be as evil as any fan with nasty swipes and comments about wives/mothers etc. Wasn't it a comment about Zidanes mother that pushed him over the edge and headbutt Materazzi.
I don't think being attracted to a member of the same sex is punishable by death. Homosexual activity is punishable by death in some countries though. It's a bit different in ISIS areas where anything is punishable by death.
If you mean in the Middle East, I don't have any desire to go though - not even if England get to the World Cup finals. The same applies to Bradford.
https://christianmartyrwatch.wordpress.com/isis-terrorist-has-sex-with-a-donkey-video-18/ its ok if its a donkey - just not another man
Okay, fair enough. Sodomy and other homosexual acts are punishable by death. In practice, Iran and Saudi Arabia executes homosexuals with little evidence. How do the authorities know what they get up to specifically?
It's a crime under Old Testament law as well but Israel and Christian countries are significantly more tolerant of homosexuality. We've had an Enlightenment and moved on. How countries with such poor human rights are awarded the World Cup disgusts me.
They could do that. I think I read somewhere that Indonesia has mandatory virginity tests for young girls as well. It's just barbaric and flagrant violations of basic human rights.
They may tolerate it it their good book. Its a long time since I was in the middle east but I vaguely remember being told that the ultimate insult was to say to someone your mother or father was a donkey.
Made up fairy stories telling people they can't sleep with someone of same same sex or their made up deity will be angry should have no input into this debate. That goes for ALL* made up 'religions' *they're all made up.
