This can only be regarded as a positive development in that not only we now see our youth as the future, our youth see that now they have a future with us.

What's happened to Col Donaldson? He seemed a good prospect when we got him from Scotland.
Would like to see him given a crack next season.

No good thinking we can buy in quality players we can't
This is the way forward now get used to it
We have purchased names and had the luxury of slagging them all off one by one
Get used to watching players you have never heard of
We grow a core with a new plan
Maybe bring in a few wise heads
We have our club back
That's sounds exciting to me

Like most fans I would like us to have a decent youth system that develops players to their potential & is a proper stepping stone towards the first team.

The main concern is that it will take time i.e. years & not an overnight thing which seems to be the current vision, if we try & rely on our current youth team to fill the gaps by those leaving over the summer there's every chance we'll keep on going down.

We need to be active in the transfer market in the summer subject to any FFP ruling just to stabilize the team.

I agree with this.
Ramsey and Les certainly seem to be saying that the club is, at last, going to try to build from the bottom up and achieve some lasting foundations.
2 or 3 years in the Championship, building a young ambitious side with a few experienced heads thrown in is what it may well take. I'm all for this, but I'm yet to be convinced that Ramsey has the ability to achieve it. However, he gets a clean slate from me at the end of this season.

My only fear is that TF won't listen. The money men may not have the patience for the time it will take to re-build things. I know they've made a terrible job of things, but I believe we may well be completely up **** creek if they jump ship any time soon!

I don think they will (call me synical) but I think there's so much money to be made if Old Oak happens they'll want to see it through.

I don't have the patience for all this 2, 3 years stuff either. Clubs rebuild in months. No reason we can't do the same. We don't have to do either a Hughes buy a new team, or a Harry take only the experienced Pros. We can keep a core of the best current players with a few more good years in them, take a very few of the young players we have who are very nearly good enough, and bring in the rest if we are smart enough, and our Owners back this with prudent funding.

We need to build not just a decent team but strong club foundations - training facilities, scouting etc

This will take several years but - in my opinion - is worth doing. A rushed return to the Premier League will only result in another poor season with panic buys of players that no - one seems to want and that we overpay while they're at the club

Even TF's backers won't want to keep throwing money away at the rate they have done without securing long term PL football

I take the opposite view, I think TF will listen. He has tried buying established players on inflated salaries and failed miserably. He will realise that a different approach is now needed.

The last news of the summer transfer market ... Saturday 05/16/2015

Ferdinand on Radio 5 today was saying the roots of the club are finding and developing lower league players. Also said it was a disgrace that no one from the youth set up had become a regular first team players for 16 years.

Does Peregrine Smallpigs appointment mean Ramsey can't go back to the academy? Spurs have regularly featured 5 academy graduates nutured by him this year. I don't know whether our failure has been down to poor administration, inability to find and attract genuine talent, or poor coaching. Probably a mixture of all three.
