What has he done for the cause mate? He has scored occasionally against Sunderland - thats it! He has been here for nearly 12 years and has scored just over 50 goals for us. He isn't loyal, its the fact that no one else wanted him. We can't afford to keep people just because they are nice guys. Its 'Jobs for the boys' mentality and I hope to Christ he ****s off in the summer but I don't think he will

Can anyone rationally want Shola here next season? The very thought of him coming for 20 mins and embarrassing himself for yet another season with better players being left on the bench makes me sick quite frankly. I know Pardew must be blamed for alot of it but Shola should have been moved on a long, long time before this.

Behind Pardew, Shola is number two in the list of 'people who must please, please, please fck off outta my club.'

He's beyond useless. He makes Jonas look worth playing.

I don't think he's a leech. He has been masquerading as a PL footballer for the last 10 years and is a bit of a charlatan but by all accounts successive boards have been keen to give him contracts and keep him. Its really down to poor management and penny pinching i.e. keeping Shola is the cheap option for the likes of Ashley and Fat Fred.

Yep, he's a body, a squad number. At the moment, he's an English speaker. These are his only qualities. My problem is he should be nowhere near the 1st team and I don't necessarily think that Pardew has had 'no option' but to play him.

Agreed, those two along with Pardew would be the three people I'd want out of our club.

He's 2nd top scorer of all time against the mackems. Only Jackie Milburn has out-scored him man!

I agree he should move on, we've known for years that he's never going to be a prolific scorer, but if we call our own people effing parasites, I just think you need to given a straight red for that. If that's ok.;)

Its him or the raw and naive Campbell though when you turn round and look at the bench. The young lad has had knee problems all season so a lot of the time he hasn't really been a option. I'm not sure what other options there were bar recalling the equally useless Sammy? We left ourselves short in the striker department and both Ashley/Pardew have that to answer to.

Personally I think we could have benefited quite heavily from playing Gouffran and Ben Arfa up front much, much more in a one-off-the-top-man 4-4-1-1 formation. I've seen more than a few cried on here asking for a Beardsley type - isn't that Ben Arfa? Or a Bellamy-type - isn't that Gouffran? Just because the clown Pardew plays each of these two on the right and left wing respectively doesn't mean that's where they should be playing. However, this would also rely on Pardew having a plan B that didn't involve "bringing on the big fella"......

Your entitled to your opinion mate. I just feel that he should have been given his marching orders long ago. He has leeched on the club's tit for more than a decade (I can't believe its been 12 ****ing years) and it is high time that ended.

Who is this Ben Arfa you speak of? <whistle> Seriously I think HBA could play there if he was fit. The problem is that you need really high work rate or you just end up with a Le Tissier type who does well himself, but not a great deal or his team. Bellamy and Beardo had a great work ethic. Benni is a superb talent but you'll need work rate somewhere else to cover his end.

Gouffran possibly, but he looks every inch a winger for me. Indeed of the French football I watched he was out wide 90% of the time. The problem with Gouffran in the number 10 role is he lacks the brain to pick the clever passes or make the intelligent runs. the lad will run all day and stretch his man but he is a not classy enough for a number 10. Young Campbell does actually look like this kind of player but how good he is or will be is hard to say. Hopefully next season he can stay fit and we can find out.

I think HBA and Gouffran are definitely best in the wide areas personally on all I've seen. The mistake we have made is not having goalscoring options and different kinds of strikers on the bench. For instance, how different might some games have been if we'd had Shane Long and Le Fondre sitting there? We left ourselves very short to me. We were short going in and then sold Ba and bought a winger??

I think you need 4 strikers and it helps if they give you variety of types. SAF has been a master at this. KK was very good. Not always world beaters but he'd have 4 or 5. Mathie, Allen, Kitson, Huckerby all did solid jobs. Bobby knew the score too Shearer, Bellamy, Lua Lua, Ameobi (when he was useful).
