Newcastle United have got a domestic owner in Mike Ashley and he has been a nightmare for them for even longer than Evans has been for us, continuously draining the club of its funds. On the other hand, Leicester City are absolutely living the dream with foreign ownership.

I’m no fan of Ashley but he has invested enough to keep them in and around the premier league....I’d take that to be honest,

I think that to make money out of a football club you need to start at a lower league club and make them successful then sell on, i see no issue with this plan, we all want success what Evans wanted was to find success with next to no investment in the club that will very very rarely work IMO, he is better of cutting his losses before the negativity affect his brand and other areas where he possibly has more idea.

Ashley has not invested in Newcastle, he’s been creaming all the Premier League money for years and years and had loads of high profile advertising for Sports Direct into the bargain.

Admittedly, I am a bit cautious about this US investment model. It's effectively a model where you pump investment in during the first year or so, get the club on an upward curve, and then sell when it is as its most valuable. I believe the owners of Barnsley and Millwall are following this model. The main objective is purely on making the club more profitable in the medium-to-long term future and making a return on your investment. So I'm not sure how much passion these new owners will have for the club and it's unlikely they'll be in it for the long haul.

The big questions for me are around how much they're willing to invest in the playing squad? Will they respect the traditions of our academy and provide it with investment? Will they make more of an effort speaking to supporters and being open? Will they engage with the local communities? Will they take the time and investment to improve our approach to the general running of the club, such as sports science and scouting? Will they actually put a proper structure in place? What type of manager and what type of playing style do they want to see? Given the record of Evans and his shambolic handling on most of those aforementioned issues, the new owners don't really need to do much to improve those aspects of the club. I do hope they're not using a leveraged buy-out or saddling the club with debt to third parties, as that could lead to trouble further down the road.

It’s hard to see how it could be any worse than the current situation.

Well they have stayed in around the prem thus enabling him to cream off the top, M.Evans has tried to take the cream before milking the cow.

Evans bought a few cows in 2010 and milked them for every last drop, he’s been bottling his own sour cream for the last five years to sell to these Americans.

I know we don’t own the ground but could the long term lease be sold back to the council to fund a new stadium¿

To me this feels very much like getting rid of Mick McCarthy I really wanted him to leave because watching Ipswich truly took all the joy out of football and was like death by 1000 cuts but it was a risk and that risk failed.

I really want Marcus Evans gone but this one feels like proper selling our soul for the exact same reasons as Evans invested in the first place but is it worth the risk...without knowing the finer details, yes I believe it is because the club is stagnating.

The risk of getting rid of Mick McCarthy didn’t fail. He had already decimated the squad. He would have stayed on if we weren’t so terrible when he left.

Evans made a total mess of sacking Hurst at a crucial time in the fixtures, which was the risk that failed.

Or the risk was giving a young manager money to put together a squad of League One quality

The football was so much better than it has been under Lambert. We started terribly but had improved a lot.

Maybe if we had stuck with McCarthy we would have been treading water in the Championship, but that would be worse than going backward to go forward.

Takeover not dead yet apparently....training ground search updated today.
