Twitter has been great this season. The team obviously get on well and a lot of their banter is aired over twitter. It's also an opportunity for the fans to get involved with the players and each other. Simply another way to support your team. This is a thread in which I encourage people to get involved with twitter (I will assume some of you already are?).

On that note a memory which sticks out for me was the conduct of Yado Mambo on twitter during the Riots. He was "jokingly" asking people to steal certain items for him and joking about them - all this while police were being fought by mobs and peoples homes were burning down. Seemed quite irresponsible considering he's a supposed role model. Maybe it infuriated me more then others due to the connections I have to the riots which unfortunately I'm unwilling to divulge into! Maybe another time.

have a look at last nights postings between hamer and sullivan ignoring a 7 year old kid. was quite amusing, some guy had the complete arse.
 
It's mainly verbal attention seeking, frequently used for bullying as there are no proper controls including personal attacks on players and best avoided at all costs.

I agree Pat, i was a heavy Twitter user 12 months ago, then thought to myself.. 'why am i telling people i am going down the shops?' - and havnt used it since...

Quite right Stu, the only social media site I really like as it's less gossipy but can be full of cutting remarks is YouTube, not only for the football but I love the music clips you get on there.
 
It has it pros and cons- like most sites.

The cafc match day tweets are the best I know of. They usually post exclusives on there first too- as well as rich cowley (slp).

The players currently receive a lot more love than hate (but that's because we are top of the league I guess). it's not for everyone, but I enjoy elements of it.

I think there should be more regulation so there's less abuse of free speech and verbal bullying, that's something many of us are working on this government to do, difficult with libertarianism though.
 
It is what you make it. There's full control charltonpat - its quite easy to block someone.

As I say its what you make it, I dont use it for telling people im going down the shops, I use it to get involved with the players and other fans. In fact I have barely any of my friends on there. All you have to do is type #cafc in the search bar and you can divulge in a massive range of facts and opinions from other Charlton fans. I also have some comedians and musicians which is quite amsuing at times. Much better then all the make believe stuff you read in the Daily Mail! And great for exclusives!

Yes you get morons on there but they are easily ignored.

I've got no interest in gossip for gossip's sake whatsoever, or this my trivial news of the day attention seeking stuff and would refuse to use it in work situations - don't read the Daily Mail either. I can get factual information from wikipedia. It needs to be effectively moderated and that's what I'll carry on campaigning for elsewhere.
 
What did you get down the shops, Stu?

Earlier I went to a Nisa shop and bought a box of snout, a Bourneville bar for the missus and three Dib Dabs for the nippers.
