As much as I have a hatred of Newcastle and I'm sure you feel the same about us, I think we all can safely say that we are a region that simply loves football and the passion is unrivalled throughout the country IMO. The Manchester, Merseyside and all London derbies just don't have the same ferociousness that ours seems to have. Maybe that's bias but the major derbies that I've said are from clubs with supporters that all live with each other totally mixed but the fact that we are two separate cities means that a lot of fans only meet other twice a year.

The national media bias is shocking and as I've seen further up the page I agree if this was a southern derby then it would be constantly pointed out. I think if 'red and white' and 'black and white' have one thing in common it is a general hatred of all things south.

 

It does shine an entirely different light on the 'Viz' character Biffa Bacon's name, doesn't it? ...
