I've been waiting for the new BBC adaptation of War of the Worlds to come on, but I don't know when it starts.
As a fan of the book, I've been waiting all my life for somebody to do a production faithful to HG Wells' original version.

    The American 'reality' radio version,
    the 1950's US movie
the Musical version in the late 1970's
    The Tom Cruise movie

All of these (except the last one) had their moments, but I would love to see somebody tell the tale from it's Victorian perspective on screen.
    Hope they do it justice.

As long as they don't get too carried away by the special effects it should be good. Dr Who lost its way thus.

    Very true FHB.

Dr Who is now just PC nonsense with bangs & flashes for kiddies with an attention span of 30 seconds.
Has lost its way totally. The Beeb claim it has the higghest ever audience ratings now, which I find hard to believe. If it's so popular, why hasn't there been a single episode between Christmas 2018 and Christmas 2019?

If true though, I guess every trace of the old show the way it used to be is gone forever.
It had a good run though I guess.

I hope War of the Worlds will be aimed at a more grown up audience, with the period drama and the special effects kept in proportion.

At least Boris doesn't claim that God personally told him to do the things he does.

All politicians are liars, but those who claim to be holier than thou are the most despicable of all.

Not defending Blair, but he has never actually said that. Alistair Campbell told him "We don't do God"

Alistair Campbell is a scumbag. Vile.

His lies sent tens of thousands of innocent people to their deaths.

So basically there's nothing decent to watch on the telly.
Combine that with no proper football for the next 11 days and this is a pretty miserable fortnight really.

Will England be kicked out of the Euro 2020 Finals if they walk off the pitch in response to racism?
    Who cares?
    I certainly couldn't give a f**k.

Good to see Andrew Neil absolutely destroy climate change conspiracy freak Zion Lights <laugh> on his show last night.

    it’s worth a watch @ForestHillBilly

the climate change myths gets utterly destroyed in the course of 8 mins.

It’s just a bunch of gauche kids & unwashed tree huggers wetting themselves.

    “Million’s will die” <laugh><laugh><laugh>

It could signal a radical change of direction for CARD.

A tent city in the centre circle at the Valley and protesters gluing themselves to the goal posts. We've already had the hearse.

I haven't watched it but …. is 'Drag Race' the worst programme on TV at present?... I've just seen a headline about it on the BBC website and think it may be on BBC3? Licence fee money obviously well spent?
