Hmm we play them in a few weeks...broken arms don't get strong that quick! Must stop think out loud one of our players may get an idea....cough, cough.
DC said he heard about Turley moving to Eastleigh by TEXT message! Story in the Post: Rovers boss Darrell Clarke has revealed that the first he knew about Jamie Turley’s surprise move to Eastleigh was through a text message from the central defender’s agent. Turley had been training with Rovers over the last two months as he continued to recover from a broken arm suffered in the summer with a view to signing a permanent contract once he got the all-clear to return to full-contact training. Results from an X-ray conducted earlier in the week returned inconclusive and Rovers booked Turley in to have a CT scan on Friday to gather a second opinion before placing a firm offer on the table. Eastleigh, however, stole in to offer the player a contract until the end of the season on Thursday, and Clarke said: “I think Jamie could have definitely gone about it in a slightly different way, but that is the way football goes sometimes. I understand the lad needs the money and a contract, but we as a football club were not willing to take a chance until our medical team had passed him. I had reassurances from Jamie and his agent that he would be signing a deal here, but then he said he couldn’t wait forever after the results of the initial X-ray came back as inconclusive. The first I heard of him going to Eastleigh was when I got off the training ground on Thursday and received a text message from his agent. I called him but there was no return call. I would have appreciated a phone call from the lad because I think he owed me that much at least.” When Clarke was told that Turley had made his Eastleigh debut in a 1-0 win over Braintree Town earlier today, he said: “I don’t know what the situation is with Eastleigh’s medical team, but we have to do things right for our football club. I’m not a doctor and all I know from our medical advice is that we had to wait for a CT scan because the results of the X-ray were inconclusive.” http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/heard-...message-says/story-22956436-detail/story.html
**** him I say. We let him train with us for 2 months, paid for his treatment/scans etc, basically looked after him. Had agreed a deal in principle with us and decided to not wait until Friday (2 days ago) to have another scan for a 2nd opinion, yet instead decided to join Eastleigh the day before and DC was told by a text message from Turleys agent and Turley himself didnt return a call to DC. Thats all very ****ty to me. **** him.
