Thanks Chas, that’s useful to hear. Marmaris is coming up a lot on the searches and I was reluctant as know nowt about it…. this post will have us looking closer now
Bit early for Xmas but: Ingredients 50g butter, softened 2kg turkey crown on the bone 1 tsp Chinese five spice or a pinch of ground cloves For the glaze 4 tbsp honey 1 tbsp Dijon mustard 1 tbsp red wine vinegar Method STEP 1 Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Smear the butter all over the turkey crown and season all over with salt and half the five spice. Put in a roasting tin, skin-side up, and roast for 30 mins. While the crown is roasting, mix all the glaze ingredients in a bowl with the rest of the five spice. STEP 2 Remove the crown from the oven and brush the skin generously with half the glaze. Continue to roast for another hour, glazing twice more, until cooked all the way through and the glaze is sticky and caramelised. Leave to rest for at least 20 mins before carving. Save the juices from the tin to make gravy.
CONGRATULATIONS!! You have won this week's special prize for the post that mentions Marmaris the most times. Your prize is a week in Marmaris, with Albert and Chaos. Enjoy.
Can you imagine a week in Marmaris with Chaos man???? He'd actively look for street vendors to go have a bit craic with for hours on end just to annoy you
But Marmaris… well it looks a bit built up. I’m a mountains and sea man. …………… but…., cheap (Marmaris, not me)
good man. I’d recommend sorting a private boat trip too. They will basically be your chauffeur from 10-4.
Money’s tight mate, I’ll make do with Efes at the all-incl and keep my fingers crossed for the beach. 13 hours I spent looking today - if I’d booked on Wednesday I’d have hit a cheaper price and nicer hotel…. Lesson learned!!
Yep. Turks will taken any currency really and most bars will advertise the latest exchange rate. I do take a small amount of TL over though just for cans on the way from Dalaman to Marmaris as I get a driver and he takes me to the off license.
