Point taken Yankee!! Think we need to take 'Stan the man' to task, over his short-sightedness to how far the 'Jack Foreign Legion' & the 'Jack-Gospel' has spread......
The first hour is certainly worth it neveroff!! Celtic legend John Collins just happened to be listening whilst driving, phoned-in to wax-lyrical about our football & ethos!!! Class.....

Glowed with pride as I listened. What a time to be a Swan!!! Word of caution, though. I hope that Buck is keeping the players focused. There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance and I would imagine that the team as a whole are on a high right now. I've seen this sort of thing before and I don't want our team going to Sunderland thinking they only have to turn up to win. O'Neil and the Sunderland players will be as aware as anyone about the plaudits and good press reviews that have been heaped on us. We can equally be sure that they will be hell bent on bursting our bubble: A) because they need the points themselves and B) the Sunderland players will be determined not become the latest victims of those lower league upstarts from the valleys. Human nature. I predict that this game will be far harder than the Arsenal one. If they didn't know it before, following Lee Dixon's excellent dissection of our playing triangles with the aid of computer graphics on MOTD, they will be right in our faces attempting to disrupt and destroy our rhythm. For sure, we are no longer floating in under the radar and, in fact, we have probably become targets with rivals queueing up to put us in our place. I think the next few fixtures are critical. If we can get 4 points from the next two games I honestly believe that we will go on to cement a place in the top ten. But it all starts now. The lads need to go up North determined to match Sunderland blow for blow making sure that not one player in the squad is going to rest on his laurels. We seem to have hit a rich vein of form, so 6 points from the next two is a distinct possibility. The other side of the coin is that two losses will see us right back in the relegation quagmire. None of us wants that so my message to the lads is 100% concentration and effort. Forget all the hype, dig in and get the result.
Only just seen this. I'm definitely going to listen when I get a chance. I was driving from Swansea to Pompey a few weeks ago and I tuned in to TalkSport to keep me alert and they started talking about Swansea then. There was no chance of me falling asleep then
Yes sunderland Will be difficult, i Will be happy with a point. Our syre grus have been highlighted by the media lately but im sure other teams know about us anyway. I do Think that leon may become the target of the opposition players as he has been highlighted more, it wouldnt suprise me if buck Made some changes yet again for this game,it might be enough to give us the Edge.
I was thinking this earlier - while Arsenal are the best exponents of the "beautiful game" in this league (apart from ourselves), I'd say they're easily the weakest of the big clubs right now. I'd say the Spurs result is still the more impressive, and the players need to remember there's going to be occasions where our pretty passing isn't working and we'll need to battle it out... and Sunderland could well be exactly that game! A good result in a gritty game at the Stadium of Light, on the back of the last few games, and I'd put money on us staying up. Any O'Neill team away from home is a tough ask, but at present we'll have to put in a very, very good performance to get anything there.
Ivor: "I've seen this sort of thing before and I don't want our team going to Sunderland thinking they only have to turn up to win." I think our players are more than aware of our awful away record, Ivor. A point is almost always a good result for us away regardless of the Villa result, and as you rightly point out, this is not the same Sunderland of a few weeks back. MON is working his magic again.
We need to go to Sunderlsnd with the same mentality and approach that we took to Newcastle - a point there will be well earened. As the saying goes look after the single points and the Wigan defeats will look after themselves
Listend to this last night in bed. Fantastic program, John Collins who I always rated as a player said it all. I just hope the players don't take all the hype in, and Brendan keeps their feet on the ground for Saturday's game verses Sunderland. Interesting what old Collymore was saying about Managers not getting in there cars to look for good British talent, has a valid point there.
i reckon spurs are the best footballing team in the league, arsenal and swansea are up there tho as for collymore, he tipped us for promotion the last 2 seasons i think
Have to agree, will be happy with a point at Sunderland. Under O'Neil they have improved at a rate of knots, so it will be very tricky.
we should not get carried away...ok we beat arsenal...well so have other teams and we could quite easily lose the next 3 games.....what then????? another sack rodgers post i suppose.......lets put things into perspective here....we have had a few good results well so have others, i wont be happy until we have enough points in the bag where we will be guaranteed premiership football next season so until then we are only as good as our last game......we must improve our away form first otherwise we are relying on our home form, so even though we are on a high at the moment dont be to complacent as we all know that a few injuries here and there could quite easily change things....enjoy the moment but dont get carried away that we are home and dry because we are not, there is loads of work to do yet.......
Was quite inspirational listening yesterday ,, lot of questions being asked all around Great Britain about spending in football ...... because of us !!
Just listening to it now lads..... almost creamed me pants. Who needs Babestation when you have the Swans!
