Monksland looks out of the World Hurdle. Meade reported at a preview night that he's unlikely to make the festival and he had a bad day with him today. Very weak on Betfair and looks definitely out.

I took them up on the Fly at 3s offer RV and the official line was £50 limit per customer but of course you can go to more than one shop...

50 would be a decent bet. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow <ok> cba with different shops. Only one close to me

The limit depends on the cashier too RV, know one shrewd customer managed to get a ton on the Fly at the 3s no questions asked so you can get lucky (or should that be unlucky?!) :undecided:

Ask for 70, often the guys in the shop don't know. Ask for 100 and they'll ring up and you'll get 50, ask for 70 and you might be ok. Or you could save yourself the hassle and do something more useful with it, like burn it for warmth or wipe your ass with it. ;)

LR not 10's with WH ............ 13-2 currently. Or was the 10-1 for a 15 minute window? <doh>

Piss off Stick, 9 year old Imperial Commander would have a great chance, 12yo Imperial Commander off from a long layoff with a far from ideal preparation. No chance. Kauto Star and Denman couldn't win the Gold Cup as a 10yo, so Imperial Commander aged 12 definitely couldn't.

BTW, Horses aged 10+ (0-5-45) have gained no wins and 5 places in the last 10 runnings from just under a third of the total runners.

1969 the last 12yo winner.
You are absolutely right the stats would not be in his favour.
He is very lightly raced for a 12yo though..........can you let the men in white coats have my address

Aye, in fairness I doubt many 12yo have tried but 10yo+ horses in the Gold Cup is one of my favourite trends/stats. I went to IC's Gold Cup with some lads who were all about Kauto or Denman. I kept repeating that stat saying that IC was the one to be on. Except, I only went and backed the tricast <doh> . That stat was also the reason I made Long Run my NAP of the festival last year.

Looks like I'm coming with you pal.

Tied Cottage was 12-y-o when he won in the early 80's.

He was subsequently disqualified on a technicality, but won on merit.

Mac Vidi was third that year at the age of 15!!

Don't rule out the veterans if they have form in the book!
