Newton Abbot

1.00 Ultragold

I wouldn't be surprised if Ultragold returns to winning ways tomorrow after having a season to forget 2019/2020. Yard won recently with Lilington who disappointed last season. I'm sure the Tizzard yard has sorted some problems out and primed Ultragold for a good run.

Got to say I’m absolutely delighted to see a ‘selling hurdle‘ back on the old agenda at God’s own racecourse of the morrow (1.30 Newton Abbot). When I noticed this I have to confess it brought a tear to the eye, a hastening to the heartbeat and a soaring of the old spirits. What, what?!?

Also chuffed to see that so many top yards have supported the event with runners. Be careful though, people, because as is the norm with this sort of race, at this track, it will almost certainly contain ‘more plots than an Agatha Christie novel’ so tread with care if punting in it…

If the yard were in better form you would have to be lumping on LOVATO at 8/1 with his record in this grade and off his current mark. The horse hasnt performing though and its fair to say that the trainer form is pretty chilly.

Awesome value betting in the bumper this evening <doh>

In a 6 Runner Race they go 9/4, 9/4, 5/2, 11/4 and any price the 2 rags.

I'll take a chance on Oxwich Bay. A winner at Newton Abbot this summer and was fancied (2/1 joint fav) at Sedgefield over fences last week when a well beaten 3rd. Turned out quickly today over timber. Stable in good form recently.

First prep for the Beecher isn’t it?

2:05 Dylans Sea Song

Ran well last 2 runs. Good 3rd at this track last time out and mark 1lb lower today. Small stable going well on the flat recently. At 10/1 worth an each way bet.

Fine performance Calum

Jumped the last like a champion hurdle winner !

Nice juvenile hurdle from Punchestown next, Joseph has a couple as does Elliot (including Starchitect's half-brother Duffle Coat). Should be interesting.

Very nice from Duffle Coat - jumped great and swept round the whole field on the last bend to win going away. Nice prospect.

Great shout thank you. With Oxwich Bay a non runner I backed Lovato

19:20 Newcastle - Hedwig

(Think Richard Fahey's horse has a fair bit of potential and has a good chance to take this nursery.)
