Le Breuil looked a real natural too which impressed. Fluent and assured round of jumping throughout.

Always a concern when bumper winners go hurdling but he looked good.

Unlucky stick. A good run but winner had a nice lead well out and wasn't for catching. Good ride by Bellamy.

Can't believe nobody picked White Valiant <doh> so obvious in hindsight <whistle>

May I add I would not be at all impressed with Mr. P Brennan's ride either if I was on.

Not really woolly. Often bumpers are run at a crawl, if they crawl over hurdles they don't get into a decent rhythm for jumping. A lot of them cannot jump and a lot of them are excellent and quick and economical over their hurdles. It's a whole different ballgame and a lot of very good bumpers do not take to hurdles.
If you want a prime example look up a horse called STAR TROUPER.

Suppose it takes an talented horse to be good over both! And you just automatically think a good bumper will be a good hurdler
