Rose to Fame , went off strongly fancied in kempton bumper in the winter , had plenty of time to get over whatever ailed her , surely capable of much better , and yard has outstanding record in bumpers at Ludlow 8 35

Morning

8.00 Ludlow-Nikki Steel

Each Way @ 5-1 [Skybet] 4 places

Dark horse in the race

Purely because of the pedigrees DRIFT ROCK and BIG FIDDLE both at 16/1 in the bumpers this evening.

Two very nice bumpers today stick.

At Exeter Tom George's Net de Treve looks the most talented of those to have run - his 3rd at Doncaster reads well with the winner just failing to win under a penalty next time and the second-placed horse winning next time out. Mulholland's Global Rhapsody changed hands for plenty of Euros and could go well.

The market for the mares bumper at Ludlow looks a bit skewed towards Mr Henderson's runner (although she is the only one blue on oddschecker so a big run is clearly expected) but she might be vulnerable to a lurker. I'll throw in Rose To Fame e/w who was fancied on debut but ran a stinker on the all-weather. Hopefully a return to turf can see the daughter of Fame and Glory go well.

Gives me something to watch this evening, best of luck with yours <ok>

Nikki Steel - 8.00pm - Ludlow - Tuesday 8th May
Live on RacingUK

1m7f169y Handicap hurdle - £9,000 - 15 declared

Nikki Steel had an excellent 2016 for Foxtrot Racing before picking up an injury. He was in need of his run when he reappeared after an 18 month lay-off at Fakenham last month and we hope he will be competitive this evening.

Alex has tipped this one mate <yikes>

Hello, team. Nothing for me today but if my regular readers will allow it I’ll say something re 2 of the runners that one of the Roger’s (Mr Varian) saddled on Saturday.

SHARJA BRIDGE was just run out of it close home by a Go-Dolphin horse who had already had a run in ’18. Though in pulling 4 lengths clear of the remainder Sharja Bridge put up an exceptional run on his seasonal bow. The handicapper also agrees and has put him up a whopping 7 lbs for this 2nd place finish. I only watched the race via the old magic tellybox but from what I saw he has to be one of the best looking horses I’ve seen for many a while, pilgrims. I’ll predict, right here, right now, that by the end of the campaign Sharja Bridge will be running in, and winning, Group 1’s.

FUJAIRA PRINCE romped home by 6 lengths at Wetherby and looks another who could be potentially very decent. Has obviously had his problems as this was just the 4YOs second ever racecourse appearance but if he remains sound is a most deffo one to follow. Will receive a perch after his next run and I’m guessing how he is treated will determine whether or not connections then pitch him into handicaps or Listed/Group affairs. Is a half-brother to Stayers Hurdle winner, Nichols Canyon, so he should do nothing but improve from here on in.

Good luck to those wearing their punting pants today.

Absolutely love this family and The Lieutenant has had great success with it. Trained both Big Fiddle’s dam, Fiddling Again (dual Bumper winner) and her granddam, Fiddling The Facts (Grade 1 winner who actually went off fave for a Grand National).

Was always a bit distressed though to see The Lieutenant’s name associated with such monikers as Fiddling Again and Fiddling The Facts as these are 2 things that the great man would never, never I say never, never, do.

Worth pointing out though that Big Fiddle is with Dickie Phillips rather than the forum’s favourite.

If she is to repay her purchase price of £240,000 really needs to go close, at the very least, later on. Today won’t be the be all and end all for the old girl but given her purchase fee you would expect her to be on the old premises. Lust For Glory did though put up a most respectable run when 3rd on her stable bow at Ascot in Feb.

Later in the term (I was going to say next season but of course it’s now this season!) she could be the ideal sort for the Mares Novice at the Cheltenham Festival.

Fully agree but couldn't be backing her at that price today. Ben Pauling's Yeats filly Amethea, Ruby Tiger and Tarsini all appeal at double figure odds as well as the ones already mentioned on the thread. In fact it is probably one to just watch and enjoy with the old notebook out <ok>
