Best time to catch him I reckon is in the Peterborough chase. Main target for the season..he 'll be cherry ripe for that and providing ground is not too soft on the day has to be a massively good bet.
Shout Barney..I m surprised you weren't on here on Sunday giving your views on Pym who ran at Huntingdon on Sunday. I thought the run was a bit mediocre myself. I was stood next to Mr magic hands himself and Patricia Pugh in the owners and trainers bar shortly after that race. Great to see such esteemed folk hanging out with us minions at a small local track like Huntingdon.
Nicky Henderson was in 'The Owners and Trainers Bar'! Cor blimey I'm Shocked with a capital 'S'. I hope, old boy, you were hospitably and bought him at least a double GnT. Yeah, have always followed Pym and he won the same bumper as Sprinter Sacre did to really announce himself a couple of years or so ago. Never really convinced though as a novice hurdler after getting found out a bit in a Grade 2 at last year’s ‘Open’ meeting was then an ‘also-ran’ at the Festival. I thought Pym’s chasing bow was solid, if not spectacular, and he should come on a lot for it. At any rate his next run over fences should tell us a lot more about where he stands. Pym could actually be ideal for something like the 0-145 novice chase at the Festival (currently rated 137 over fences but needs 2 more runs to qualify). Another similar sort re this race could be Lisp incidentally (owned by the same connections who have Santini). Although whether Alan King goes for this race in 2020 or 2021 is anyone’s guess right now.
