Morning, team.

Do like one running tomorrow. Although am, obviously, hoping that none of the unraced brigade, contained within the heat, are the 'reincarnation of Pegasus'.

Clenched (1.00 Newbury) - this filly, of the Charlton's, did pretty much everything wrong on debut yet still manged to be something of an eyecatcher. She was slowly away, hung left and was very green but the old girl still managed to stay on most promisingly in the closing stages to be nearest at the finish. With that experience behind her I would expect Clenched to be much more 'street wise' here and come on an awful amount for her debut run. Potentially, a very promising 2YO, methinks. The current form of the Charlton barn is an obviously 'plus' with, at the time of writing, 3 out of their last 5 runners winning.

Good luck all.

Morning all. Intrigued by Paul Townend turning up at Ballinrobe to ride 2 outsiders for his boss which he tends to leave for other jocks to ride these days. Dads Lad and Mi Lighthouse both 16/1. Maybe he’s going there to lead up Willie’s inevitable bumper winner but I’ll risk a few £ on ew singles and a barney rubble. Good luck all.

Cor blimey those bookie chappies aren't giving much away re old girl Clenched, are they?!? Very short - although the price not helped by the fact that both the 2nd and 4th faves are now non-runners.

Goes without saying that Clenched was very disappointing in the card commencer - trailing in 11th. The market support totally at odds with the end result.

I think Clenched, so early in her career, deserves another chance but obviously needs to step up next time.

I thought Hannon's 2yo Rich looked very useful today. A Cracksman filly who looked very green on her debut but was always going better than the rest, and should improve a great deal for that run. I'd imagine a nice 7f event will be found for her. She traces back to another Holliday family mare Verdura, who produced not only a champion sprinter, but also a Cesarawitch winner and the European Staying filly of the 1970 (who was the best of the lot).
Looks to have a lot on her side and is owned by a lucky owner too, Julie Woods.

The question for me regarding Clenched is: „Fist or buttocks“?
