At least Bob is mildly converted....sorry but wasnt Pont the best thing to come out of Ireland since the last best thing to co e out of Ireland. You non believers will have egg on your faces again as this is one of the best novice hurdler years in a long time!

Afternoon, all. Hope everyone well and in the words of the old song ‘ready to rumble’.

Nothing for yours truly today as the racing doesn’t inspire me but one race that most deffo does is the old ‘lucky last’ at Aintree on Saturday – the Grade 2 bumper. Looks at the entry stage to be a Corker with a capital ‘C’. PURPLE BAY, WILDE BLUE YONDER and Mr Henderson’s WEST WIZARD and TISTORY all entered. Great to see the latter back amongst the ‘possibles’ by the way after an injury ravaged season. Was once upon a time my leading fancy for the 2013 Supreme Novices Hurdle and re Cheltenham 2014 it wouldn't surprise me if that ‘list of 4’ contained both the winners of the Supreme Novices and the old Neptune race. Make a note now regular readers. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.

Good luck to those who do decide to wager today.

Always going to be a staying chaser look at him and watch him race you are not daft. Your fella will run a good race on Thursday but will not win. How exciting is Coneygree for next season btw. His form behind At Fishers Cross and The New One is looking very good now ;)

I see that the likely prospect of a good ground GN has led to big support for Pip Hobbs' Balthazar King this morn. Down to a general 20/1 now. Ladbrokes the sole bookie chappie shouting 25's.

He jumps the Cheltenham cross country well so safe to assume he will like Aintree. Hasn't Dickie chosen to ride Quinz though?

RV is right Pont is a staying chaser for next year. Would I rather have Rule The World though given that everything revolves around Cheltenham? Yes.

The New One did come out of Ireland .

This race is fascinating.I vaguely remember Golden Cygnet cruising up behind Night Nurse and Sea Pigeon in the Scottish CH a few years ago only to tip up at the last. The condition of the race favoured the older brigade as well.

TNO faces a much easier task against lesser beasts but is hugely talented.

I,m really not a fan of his trainer.....he hss had huge success but given his ammo a ten pcent strike rate is moderate...

Plunge on the Kim Bailey horse. 12/1 into 8/1. Interesting race. I'd not be shocked if we win but equally if we didn't even place.
