    Sedgefield

    3.00 Go To Court

    - form oft last run when 5th worked out well (1st won again, 2nd won, 3rd was 2nd at Warwick after that race)
    - career low mark today
    - stable earns its money mainly with runners at Sedgefield
    - Henry Brooke back in the saddle who knows the horse well and has ridden it more than one time when placed in the past

    Sedgefield

    3.30 Scoop the Pot

Stick put this one up 2 weeks ago and I usually like to give selections another chance when it doesn't work out as expected first or 2nd time.

    4.10 Maxed Out King

I really like this old servant for the Sue Smith yard who has a good record at Sedgefield and won when fresh in the past. Stable in much better early form this season than in the last (big priced winner at Hexham recently). Stable operates especially well with its chasers at this track (50 in the first three out of 86
runs over the last 5 seasons). Could be hard to beat from the front.

    4.45 Major Snugfit

Put this one up here recently when 4th at Kelso after leading for most of the way. Down 2lb and 1f shorter today could bring him nearer to the winners enclosure this time at an each way price.

    5:15 Island Villa

This can't be a confident selection given poor hurdles record (2 out of 49) but won for Rebecca Menzies in 5 starts so far and could have needed comeback run where Island Villa met interference over a trip longer than ideal (2m 4f)

"Led, pushed along and headed 3 out, weakening when hampered before 2 out, soon lost touch (jockey said gelding suffered interference turning into the home straight on the final circuit) (op 14/1)"

You can put a line through the run before at Sedgefield on heavy. Today back over a shorter trip on good going with rider Conor O'Farrell (won at Catterick with the horse) taking over from a 10lb conditional I just take a chance Island Villa will reach a place at least

    Bangor

    1:40 Kajaki

Never worse than 3rd place in all NH runs and promising 2 runs for Nicky Richards since left Kevin Ryan. Yard has started new season well and is always dangerous to dismiss at Bangor for each way purposes

    30 runs 6 wins 8 placed PL 10.00

Refitted cheekpieces could eak out further progress.

    3.25 The Welsh Paddies

Unexposed over fences and closely beaten in 2nd at Hereford last year when last seen. Good yard can ready one after a break. Very useful hurdles form. Should develop into a nice staying handicap chaser this season. Richard Patrick who knows the horse well (won 2 times on the horse) takes off 3lb.

Oddy, I prefer a beer. A friend of ours lives in the Giesing district of Munich and has always been faithful to the small local brewery, Giesinger. Not a bad brew at all, so, <cheers>

Very bad luck, but that's racing, Poshfan, it can be damn cruel sometimes!

Very good days racing today with a win for the Blake barn (just now) as well as the previously mentioned Mr Ponsonby and the forum’s favourite trainer. Incidentally, don’t include this in the ‘Aftertiming Hall of Shame’ I’m not claiming I won a fortune…as I didn’t!
