Backed give me a moment to win by 8 lengths there and I think the jockey easing up has cost me as it walked over the line :emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

Hollie Doyle rides them AW tracks very well. Watching her over the past 2 seasons, she consistently makes the best decisions and schools her leading male counterparts. She just won the 7 o clock at Wolves where she won aboard the favourite. After breaking from stall 2, she had to settle for being stuck in a central pocket after Richard Kingscote on the 2nd fave got out from stall 1 to stop her getting over to the rail. As the race progressed toward the finish you could see Kimgscote shuffle out a bit to keep her wider and then Hollie popped the fave out wide around the bend and stole 3 lengths and went on to beat the Kingscote runner by a neck. I think Kimgscote was too preoccupied with Dolye he forgot what he was at himself.

Back to the main point, I think Hollie Doyle
keeps her race tactics as simple as they get but they are effective for her and she often steals a march and wins. Between herself and Rachael Blackmore over obstacles the woman are more than capable when afforded the opportunity.

Also, is there any really top jockey riding in Britain anymore over obstacles? Answer on a postcard please.

Hollie for me is the best of a good set of young jockeys riding on the flat. Her positional skills are brilliant and she is tough in a drive and gets horses to win when they shouldn't. Not many jockeys have that talent.

To answer your question about jockeys riding in Britain. Adam Wedge and Charlie Deutsch.

I’ve been impressed by Niall Houlihan this season

He is doing well but is riding at rubbish tracks and on relatively rubbish horses. It'll be interesting to see if he moves on. Not as if he is going to be the stable jockey!

On a serious note it is quite shocking that there is such a lack of quality in Britain. The two that Nass mentions are very good and I would add two more to the list. Keilan Woods is one but he doesnt get anywhere near enough rides and the other is Gavin Sheehan. Of the younger crowd I like the look of Jack Tudor and Kevin Brogan.
Sadly, none of these are anything over than really quite good.

Couldn't agree more. She does the simple things right and offers the horse the best chance to get there in front. Can't ask no more of a jockey than that. She actually won the next race after I posted too.

Yeah, I like both of them. I suppose they both do not get the chance to ride the highest calibre of horse consistently enough to make them even more prominent. Could be a sign of the times in Britain in hindsight, the more I think of it. Maybe that quality that the current jockey's predecessors had just isn't as abundant now, as it was then, to make them as prolific. Maybe we were a bit spoiled with McCoy and Ruby, but as eluded too above, they had no shortage of rides and or quality for the most part, maybe Ruby more so as McCoy would ride a camel if he was told it had a chance <laugh> to his credit he got it done on some rogue types too.

On Paddy Brennan...he was a jockey I used to really like because I felt he was a "lucky" jockey for me when I backed a horse he was on. I think though, wallet aside, that he is a decent jockey for the most part.
