Love the Punchestown Fez as it gives us a chance to see loads of the Cheltenham winners try to back up there March wins against slightly different opposition, on a different track and provide another test for them. Can be sure to be a shock of two along the way but one I don't think will be shocked is the magnificent beast UN DE SCEAUX, and I see the doubters are out again, as per the norm! This is a costly horse to oppose and need we remind anyone it takes SPRINTER SACRE to beat this lad and he ain't facing that class tomorrow, odds against looks pretty big when you consider his win record! Think LABAIK beats Melon, looks a straight match. 5/2 is pretty fair. The Land Rover bumper usually fires up a decent sort and the big money horse, 240,000 of the Queens finest sterling was stumped up for him, I fully expect RAPID ESCAPE to start on his path to fulfilling that big price tag tomorrow. Banker of the day and backed earlier at 15/8.
Great minds think alike hey Beefy ;) <laugh>

Bet Victor were 11/4 earlier Labaik and they refund if the naughty boy doesn't start, 9/4 now with them. Worth considering taking that even though it's slightly below top price if you're doing more than a few bob on him imo...

Great piece of insurance to have if thinking he will win if starting off

Willie has NC, arctic fire, penhill and UDS and if she runs Annie Power they are all the big money races with £100k + prize money and more worringly heard a stat since 2010 Gordon Elliot has only had 9 winners at this meeting compared to Mullins 81 winners!

You obviously listen to the final furlong pod too then! You have to remember though in 2010 Elliott wasn't training that long (still isn't by comparison to most) so you'd wonder how many runners he had in that time frame in comparison to the GOAT. No matter what way it ends there two of the best trainers on the planet and either would be cantering to the trainer title anywhere else but I admit it would be nice to rub the OLearys noses in it if Willie can pull it out of the fire <laugh>

Take the 4/5 labaik to jump off and the 5/2 to win. If he remembers what happened to him in the gallops before Cheltenham when he was among horses and didn't jump off, he definitely will have no intention of standing still. Loads left in the tank in the supreme and better ground

Morning, you types. Cor blimey there’s more excitement on this thread than at the Saxe-Coburg’s on ‘giro day’! Calm down, dears.

At the old Punchestown Festival I like a couple, I say, a couple. MELON (4.20) really impressed me at Cheltenham and I’d love to see him aimed at the Champion Hurdle in ’18. Think with another summer on his back he is going to make a smashing sort next term and really hope they will steer him over hurdles. However, they opt to go through think he can take this Grade 1 with the minimum of fuss first. The only negative is that I’ve never heard of the trainer. EARLY DOORS (6.05) was a very, very impressive winner on debut and think he can follow in the valuable bumper. Looked an outstanding prospect when wining over course and distance in February.

Good luck, pilgrims.

3singles and a treble

I have decided to plump for UDS at this distance. Not sure FN will have the speed to catch him. 4f further and I might have gone for FN.
I also think Melon will reverse the form with Labaik.

Melon and UDS in a double

That should please all the FN and Labaik backers (you're welcome) and/or piss off the UDS and Melon backers (very sorry).

Oh and Early Doors in the Bumper

Not the easiest of days for punters but going with two today.I think JP & Willie will clean up this week so will be siding with them both.
Early Doors/UDS dbl 9/2
Annabelle Fly win 7/2
