Morning Oddy: All I can say is God can't have too many racecourses up there? Funny little place is NA IMHO.... (My Texan colleagues used to call their State "God's Country", never quite agreed with that).
Indeed we do race at ‘God’s own racecourse’ Newton Abbot again today, people. Can’t personally recommend anything to the old regular readers but as usual I give my warning re Selling Hurdles which are held at the course. In them there are usually more plots than in an Agatha Christie novel so take care when wagering. In fact today’s 15 runner heat (4.20) looks particularly difficult to solve and I think that anyone striking a bet deserves one of those medals for bravery. The ‘card commencer’ looks an intriguing heat as well. Lovely Muck (not a lovely name for a mare) is regally bred but she’s touching 8. Very old for a horse to be making its racecourse bow, methinks. Meanwhile, Tom Symonds’ Tweedledrum returns to the fold after a 5 month break. She was actually his first ever runner as a handler but had 2 ways of running last season – one of which was Awful with a capital ‘A’. However, if reproducing her 2nd to Kaffie (who is now rated in the 130’s) she should go very close for Mr Henderson’s former assistant. 7/2 looks short enough re her chances though.
Bingo a non runner now Heis, the O'Neil/McCoy horse opened at 12's and came into 2's last night but 365 have them all at sp only now. Think I'll follow Barney's advice and stay clear.
Morning guys off work today as I'm 43 years young so I will be having one bet for £100 on REFLECT 2.10 Beverley currently 3/1 thoughts appreciated good luck if you play today
Chester in trial to stage jump racing...!!! Sam Preen is asking on his twitter feed if Beverley Races can follow suit...
Racing on at Folkestone but Redcar abandoned im going to the club in the canoe, its wild up here will be having a drink for ginger, all the best mate 43 young, i remember it well
Hardly a galloping track the Roodeye What a load of nonsense. Imagine a 3 mile novice chase run at Chester? The horses will get dizzy and so will the jockeys Best of all a 4m handicap chase - that'll be nearly 5 laps
Hi to All , I'm actually living overlooking chester racecourse - although its hosing it down with rain I can confirm that there are 3 flights of hurdles down the back straight (looks like they've borrowed them from Bangor-On- Dee given the markings on the vans in the centre of the course) and it would appear from the horseboxes that Mccain has sent a couple of his horses down to give the small group of officials a taster for what might happen at a later date ... Intriguing indeed !!!! If I didn't know better I'd say I can see Ile de Rey (the grey) going over them now ... I'll keep you up to date ... though its far too wet to venture out and I can't see them sticking at this too long given that they wont want to smash the ground up before saturdays meeting ?

Oddy: It was nothing really, sent it on PM. Gingerninja: Happy Birthday to you, and the best of luck with your bet today!
Well then - your Chester correspondent can now confirm that the small 'schooling group' going over the hurdles at Chester have now given best to the elements and seem to have repaired to the 1539 Restaurant for some warming cheer ... by my best estimates it looks like they've been at it for around 45 minutes with some filming clearly being done ! Lets see what the next move is then - though it would be a surprise to me given that Chester / B-O-Dee are joint owned and very clsoe to each other ... Why would they want to compete ?? though I guess Haydock is closer to Aintree than Chester to B-O-Dee ... havent we got enough 'average racing' ??? Intriguing if nothing else ... enjoy the day everyone and good luck ...
