Very rarely look at the French races (apart from Arc weekend and classic trials). However I see A Fabre has 4 fancied runners tomorrow; three are 2yos, two debutantes and a once raced winner. About 10 of the regulars at work were talking about popping over to Fakenham tomorrow. When they saw the card, not one person is going now.
Less than 30 runners across the 6 races, dismal. However......Brian Hughes makes his way there for just one ride. That's an absolute ball ache journey from his northern base for £150 riding fee. Broadway Belle 7/2 - Fakenham 2.50.

The thing that I found shocking about the Fakenham card was the legendary Barbers Shop’s little brother been dropped to selling company (12.50)! In fact I was so shocked my monocle fell out. No way would I want to be betting on that heat though even with just 3 runners contained within. I tell you what though, troops, shall we raid the ‘Not 606 Syndicate’ funds and submit a bid / claim (delete as appropriate) for Minstrel Royal after the race??? Only trouble is we have only got £3.37 in the old kitty. Good luck, crew.
