Half Time summary:

Apoel Nicosia 1-0 FC Porto - Apoel continuing to be the surprise package of the Champions League group stages as they lead the Europa League holders by one goal to nil.

Arsenal 0-0 Marseille - Arsenal creating a few chances but lacking that finishing touch. Surely they will bring on Van Persie if things stay this way? Marseille have contributed well to the contest.

Genk 0-1 Chelsea - Chelsea ahead through Ramires but really should be 2 up, Luiz missing from the spot. Chelsea will go through as things stand.

Plzen 0-2 Barcelona - Lionel Messi scoring his 200th Barcelona goal from the spot and then adding a 2nd just before half time. Plzen reduced to 10 men in the 1st half.

Valencia 1 Bayer Leverkusen 1 - Valencia ahead after just 10 seconds (!) but have been pegged back.

Dortmund 1 Olympiakos 1 - Dortmund ahead through Grosskreutz's early goal.

 

I think both will end up with 3 points.

Arsenal always seem to struggle to score when Van Persie isn't playing though.

 

They've created enough chances but Van Persie is the only clinical player in their squad. Gervinho, Chamakh and Chu-Young aren't good enough for a club at Arsenal's level, in my opinion.

 

Gervinho hasn't looked to bad when I've seen him although he seems to be more of a creator than a finisher of chances.

Chamakh is dog ****.

Park - I haven't seen him play yet to be honest.

 

Gervinho does look quick and does create chances but he's not really the sort of striker Arsenal need.

Chamakh is poor, you can see why his scoring record was mediocre prior to joining Arsenal.

Park's record suggets that he too won't score many goals for Arsenal.

Full time everywhere. Didn't watch either game but if someone could enlighten me as to how they went? Seems like pretty **** performances from both of them, but they're already qualified i guess. (well 80% of the way there)

 

Arsenal did little to prove wrong the people who say they are over reliant on Van Persie in what was a pretty dire game.

Chelsea wasted the chance to beat Genk as David Luiz had a first time penalty saved and in the end Genk could even have won it themselves with some late chances.

 

Chelsea beat genk 5-0 like two weeks ago didn't they? Probably tired to be fair to them as its been a pretty punishing schedule of late (hence why i would actually play a team closer to what we saw vs Aldershot tommorow) As for arsenal well. They actually got a clean sheet which is the amazing thing. Why did RVP not play?

Poor result for chelsea tbh.

It should be illegal to have players sent off v barcelona, the opposition should get 22 players to even things up aswell.
