Great win for Eve J-H. People forget that her old man was one of the best. For 10 years he was up with the vey best. He had the misfortune to lose Charles Engelhard and then the Aga Khan. Best horse? Probably Ile de Bourbon I think.

Looking at that race knowing the winner, this is an excellent example of where trying to read a race with hindsight really pays off. I glanced at Accidental Agent, but that was all. Just proves that one should study the form of all the participants. Take a look at this Lockinge form just last month. Btn just 5¼l, "slowly into stride, behind, headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, final furlong, nearest finish". If Rhododendrum was 100/30, surely the winner was a decent ew bet at 33/1 <doh>

Moore done Sergei no favours there, Calyx murdered his side by about 10l.

That is some performance from Calyx, very precocious 2yo, draw wrong side and still won.

Well done Frankie. The Irish horse ran well but it was interesting that the only horses within 10l of Calyx were all racing on the other side

Here come the excuses for the beaten Irish horse. Calyx looks to have more scope than Sergei, I'd take him to repeat that again, regardless of draw/tactics etc.

Calyx dam Helleborine was a top class 2yo as well, smashed Immortal Verse 5L, but she didnt train on which is the only thing stopping me from backing this horse for the Guineas because ill be astounded if you see a more explosive 2yo this season.
