Buratino was a bit of a kick in the teeth for us form pundits. I wrote him off because he won the Woodcote at Epsom last time and that is usually the kiss of death for horses going on to Royal Ascot.

Fair play to Mark Johnston for striking while the iron is hot. They do not win anything standing in their boxes.

EDIT: Steady Pace was Tom Segal’s tip for the last - Jim McGrath picked Washington DC.

I know that is a shame Cityhull as I have already backed Washington DC. I wouldn't mind swapping that with Steady pace now to be fair.

Whoops.. <doh> Well at least that was too bad to be true, and the winner has certainly tipped his hat to King of Rooks later in the week.

Got 9/2 on Sole Power earlier and took him each way at that price as we know with these sprints a nose can beat ya. Hopefully he'll create history, would be great to see :)

Lancelot du lac has the beating of Muthmir by 5 lengths, yet is 25 times the price <laugh> easy e/w

Sole Power, Lancelot, G Force and Rangali to fight out the finish

That Goldream is going to be one of those annoying horses that nobody should follow. They only ever win when you do not fancy them – ran like a drain last time at Haydock in the Temple Stakes. Wallet-related rant over...

No excuses for Sole Power, he had every chance but simply not good enough on the day. Perhaps age is starting to catch up with him and has blunted that finishing burst that we have been used to seeing over the last few seasons.

Probably didn't get a mad quick pace he needs to run at either though QM? I'd apply the same comment to Muthmir as well.

Sole Power was beaten less than a length and a half in fifth and the winning time was 59.11 seconds. If they needed a suicidal fast pace they should have run a pacemaker.

I think Muthmir is becoming a bit of an excuse horse. He won a couple of big handicaps and also got turned over in the Stewards’ Cup when he was backed like defeat was impossible. Expect him to hose up in the July Cup...

Some horse, sweated up like a ***** in a playground beforehand. Two Guineas and the St James. Not many do that. Pure class <ok>

Whatever I've done today has gone badly wrong , don't think I've even had 1 in the frame <laugh>

Should have kept faith with Gleneagles after backing him at Newmarket, feel silly for backing that French donkey

I see AOB couldn't resist having another best his ever had horse during his interview.

I do think however that Gleneagles is a serious horse, you know that when you find yourself looking at them and not being able to find a way to beat them, and finding it hard to see who is around to do so that they must be pretty special.

Disappointed Round Two bummed after having so much faith in him. Buratino's last win at Epsom was visibly a brilliant effort but the fact he ran there put me right off. Possibly a pointer of a good run for Nelspruit in the last at good odds.

Gleneagles showed he's the best miler around comfortably enough too.

Well done those with the winners today.
